RAGE
Gameplay tips
No one believed me that I beat the game, all missions, side missions, exploring, racing mini games full upgrades in 10 hours while taking afk breaks to answer the phone, use the bathroom and chat on aim.

Proof: click on my profile and look at my 3 public photos. Its 3 snap shots of my in game gameplay score calculator from the menu. See for yourself (also this isn't impressive, speed runs beat the game in 3 hours, game averages 8-12 for people playing on PC with full completion).

---------------------------------------------------------------

I'll teach you all how to be good at this game because I'm so smart and nice:

1. ID gives you the best guns in the game within 1-2 hours, the shot gun and the sniper rifle.

2. Each gun has different ammo types (except the sniper rifle as its already OP):

Use the shotgun with regular shells on anything without armor, Close range you kill unarmored units in 1-2 hits.

Armored units you use the explosive shells, close range you kill armored units in 1-2 hits.

Against robotic and the guys in power suits you use the emp rounds, emp rounds shoot like a rifle round (long distance, you don't do more damage the closer you are like the regular shotgun rounds) but slower, you can fire from a distance and kill enemies in 1-2 hits.

3. head shots will 1 shot enemies, or 2 shot them if they have armor. 1 shot takes off enemy helmet, 2nd shot kills enemy.

4. Get close to enemies and use the shotgun:

You do this by using the SPIDER DRONES. When you cast a spider drone into the field the enemy ignores you and attacks your drone (AI is stupid). Run up to enemies and shoot them in the face with the shotgun. Then the surviving enemies get scared and run away, shooting an enemy in the back will kill them in 1 shot.

5. Go for head shots when possible.

6. Keep your bandages hot keyed to Q. There is NO COOLDOWN, when you're low on health spam Q. Bandages are also very cheap $15 or so. They are also allllllllllllllll over the different levels. Most common item you can find. What made older ID games hard was that health only healed what you were missing, you couldn't stash extra hp in your inventory (welcome to the nooby games of xbox 1 and forward).

7. Instead of reloading - switch weapons.

8. Or you can do what I did and just use the sniper on everything since its strong vs all.

9. Super huge enemies covered in armor with miniguns:

Use the rocket launcher. You can also shoot them once in the face (forcing them to turn around exposing a pack of fuel on their back, shoot the pack of fuel once and the enemy dies, congrats you killed the hardest unit in 2 shots).

10. When you get the chance to pick your class. Pick the class with more HP.

11. Buy upgrades for your weapons so they have less recoil, do more damage, have bigger clips.

12. Buy upgrades for your armor so you live longer

13. If you die:

Revive yourself, then wait for the cooldown on your defribulator to wear off and then proceed, or just proceed with caution (what I did).

Later in the game you get 2 charges on your defribulator.

This means you can spam bandages, use spider drones, 1 shot people with shot guns, and die 2x in a row and still live. Wait for cool down and repeat. You can still hide behind walls and heal over time. Enemies will get closer to you but never bum rush you. If you're behind a wall you're safe.

14. To top it all off, the nanotrites in your body automatically repair HP very rapidly over time (think shields from halo). Just sit behind a wall and recharge, if you can't, spam bandages and heal up instantly with super cheap $15 bandages (this is what really breaks the game). If you get shot a lot, use the defribulator to keep you alive. If you get shot some more, use the defribulator again. You're still alive.

15. Once you get 2 levels of defribulator:

Just run straight at enemies with the shotgun and blow their brains out. AI craps its pants and runs away, more free kills. If things are going bad, toss out a spider drone or spam bandages.

16. If you die, uninstall then whine on the forums when people beat this piss poor designed game from head to toe in 10 hours.

17. Job board missions take 3 minutes to complete, there are 9 of them. Most of them are these 3 minute mini games where you stand on a ledge and shoot people with a sniper rifle. You can't die, just shoot enemies that aren't even looking at you. Failing these are impossible.

18. Que up all jobs as soon as they are on the board:

Just because you accept doesn't mean you have to stop what you're doing and do the mission. Save a bunch up and run the missions in a group so you aren't going back and forth from base 100x.

19. Never run from a bandit fight on the road, free racing certs while going from one location to another is pretty nice.

20. When you upgrade your car, upgrade performance wheels first, followed by engine then suspension.

21. Each race is 2 minutes long. There are about 20-30 of them. You'll fail a lot in the beginning but ID keeps recycling the same maps, learn the layout. If you aren't sure which way to drive watch the intro video before every race, it shows you the course. By the time you hit the final set of races your cars will be maxed out, you should get golds first time through on all remaining challenges.

22. Never brake on any race. For me, breaking is just not spamming boost. The AI will never pass you in a race unless you mess up, flip your car and head in the wrong direction. In races where there are rockets, get the lead by boosting from the start, ram enemies out of the way, cast your shield to keep you alive, focus on getting boost cannisters off the road, you get a big enough lead that you are out of range of rockets, just don't screw up and you win.

23. There are 4 types of enemies in this game:

1: Those that mindlessly run at you. If you're getting overwhelmed, back yourself into a corner, take out the shotgun (you should be using it anyway), select the appropriate ammo, and just fire right as they are about to hit you, 1 shot kill, gj.

2: There are sniper enemies, snipe them back, it takes them like 8 seconds to lock onto you, they give this away by looking through their red dot sight which you can track.

3: There are regular enemies with guns, they hide behind stuff, bum rush them and use the spider drone decoy, shotgun them in the face, the others run away, shoot them in the back. When the enemy is afraid it stops aiming. It just shoots blindly by placing their rifle over a barricade and spraying mindlessly. Run up and give them a shotgun sandwich.

4: There are enemies in heavy armor who stand in the open with mega big guns. Use your rocket launcher on them to gib them or use the trick I mentioned above.

Games dont get much easier than this one. use the spider drone to confuse the stupid AI. Shotgun everything in the face, wash rinse repeat. Wait for the credits to roll.

you forgot to mention 3 other things....

1) Pop Rockets will take approximately 8-shots to down a Kraken with the Shotgun (4-shots from the Double-Barrel Shotgun in the Anarchy Edition, providing you don't miss)

2) Fat Mammas from your pistol will kill heavily-armored Shrouded Mini-gunners and Authority Elites with several shots to the head (this helps when using the Monocular), so it's best to save your Rockets, as these guys often contain crafting items when looting their corpses

3) Pulse Shots from the Shotgun will instantly rip Gearheads a new one when aimed at the head

Despite everything you wrote, let me ask you: did you like the game?
I'm sure this game can easily be beat under 10 hours, adding that while you do EVERYTHING, you skip the looting, avoid picking up items, do no exploring (doing car jumps and looking around places for secrets), entirely skipping dialogue scenes that each and every character you meet ends up talking on and on and on, and earn no achievements... oh yes I'm sure it's possible. But doing all that seems like the game would be less pleasant. Oh yeah, and if you own the anarchy edition, the crimson armor makes the game that much easier and quicker to get through.

My first time beating this game took 18-19 hours, including all side missions, finding and looting every dead guy I can, spending time searching for items and secrets lying around the places, searching for desert spores and night blossoms and the likes, browsing around the wasteland, earning some achievements, spending time playing minigames to stock up on lots of cash, listening to every character's endless dialogue, not to mention there were times I tried sneaking up on enemies for fun, and plenty of time putting into messing around with the console to tweak the game graphics.

I wasted LOTS of time, but that's what makes a game fun. If it's true that the average gamer finishes the game under 12 hours, then it's a no wonder they complain about the game... they don't have fun with it and they only focus on beating the game.
Lets keep this on topic. Yeah I enjoyed it. Yes I picked everything up, explored, went into every room that had a lock on it, earned achievements (didn't aim for them but acquired by playing as I would normally). Don't have the anarchy edition, just the standard.

You can browse the wasteland but you can't do much. 90% of places are locked until you have a mission that says you can go there - if you wandered the wastelands yourself you would know that :)
Also, "looting" is extremely dumbed down. The only things you can pick up glow. It's not like fallout or skyrim where you go through every cabinet and locker. In rage you walk around dark rooms, items glow, you press E, now you have it. You don't have to manager your inventory or character weight or do anything.
