Benchmark Poor - Low Mega Texels per Second - How do I improve?
In the video settings of RAGE, there is an option to run benchmark. Upon running it, I only get a very poor score for mega texels per second.

How do I improve the score?
Would putting the game on my SSD help?

It should help. GPU is a factor as well I think.

Defrag and Optimize your hard drive or run on a SSD, Also turn on "GPU Transcode". I got a fairly high score with a 7200 RPM 32 MB cache drive and a GTX 550Ti 2GB, AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4, and 8 GB of DDR2 800 ram.

Note: GPU Transcode isn't availible on an AMD Radeon graphics card so YMMV

i've defragged my hard-drive whenever I play this game, and get a benchmark score of only 28. kinda dumb that the low score is due to AMD Radeon cards

Yeah thats why then, GPU Transcode AFAIK only supports Nvidia cards with CUDA. The game was coded with Nvidia cards in mind as can be seen by all the early issues with AMD cards.

Thanks DaJoker1124, turning on GPU Transcode boosted my score. (I have an NVIDIA GTX 460)

In addition, I was able to boost my score further by adding this line to the launch properties of RAGE:

+vt_maxPPF 128

To do it I opened the properties of RAGE (by right clicking on it in my library) and selecting "Set Launch Options" from the General tab.

Perhaps, Pvt. Wierzbowski could try it and see if it makes any positive difference...

well i'll be getting a GTX660 graphics card soon (an NVIDIA), so I should see a huge difference, and boost, in the benchmark score upon installation. but i'll try adding that line to the launch properties as well
