On my review of rage i divided it into 2 parts, one for the vanilla game and one for the mod. I gave the base game an 8 and the modded version a 9.5. Hoping this expansion of the mod makes it even better.
That's awesome, I'm reinstalling the game!
Is the bug with Wellspring races still there (one race was impossible to finish)?
Actually I always wanted to make a level with strong stalker underground levels vibe and with some outside wasteland area and I think I did it and thus I fulfilled my ultimate artistic desires.
If there will be something new then it's only Doom 4 stuff, if they'll give us proper tools.
Btw. id.dav81 - how did you learn Rage's toolkit? Is there some tutorial available etc.?
There's no Wolf tools since MachineGames don't care about PC/modding community!
There are some tutorials in tool kit..but just basics of how to build simple environment. That's it!
There's also a tool kit dev notes by Dheu wich are awesome. But the biggest knowledge came with the studying of game files and original Rage maps....tools are pretty easy to use actually....problem is noone ever said how))) But the most important thing for me was always megatexturing and unique stamping...that's what always hooked me up)) And megaeditor is very easy to use....it's like a photoshop where you paint with texture stamps on your map's megatextures.
I think I found the document by Dheu, I'm posting a link so more people may see and possibly use:

One more question - I heard the toolkit requires quite a powerful machine. May I ask what you are using to work with it?
NASA, perhaps? =D
quad q6600 2.4 ghz CPU overcklocked to 3 ghz
4gb of ddr2 ram
gtx 750ti 2gb
As you can see it is almost 10 year old machine, but it is strongly recommended to use a better configs for sure. More memory, more cpu power is highly wellcome.
That's said the final magabake for the biggest map in the mod with big open area wich is using parrallel light and high quality shadow maps took me 11 hours. One can guess how long it'd take on a modern monster machine)
P.S. I had lots of crashes and other highly annoying stuff, but I also had a lot of patience, )))))))
How important is the video card for the dev kit? I have Geforce GTX 460, so a worse card than yours.
a lot of lazy stuff to give illusion of challenge.
maybe you should have just played the hardest difficulty instead
