Just take everything slow.
The one file thing always happens. No need to verify if only one file missing. It's to do with the recreation of one of the ini files for the updated 64bit... probably. Anyway, it's normal to get that.

The best version I played was indeed on the xbox 360 Anarchy edition.
The "Dead city," area, is/was absolutely a gore fest. The walls are covered and dripping bright red blood. All other versions don't have quite that level of gore.
The PC version is tamed down just a bit overall, and is fine, but, The area I mentioned was stand out. I was pretty shocked, not even the Resi evil games are like that!
I'd just finished playing the original Dead Space on 360, and that isn't exactly tea party.
Then played Rage Anarchy ed. after. It was the bloodiest game I've played.
Sadly my 360 red ring of death occured a few years back, but for a select few games made for it, it's better, than the PC versions. Despite the obsolete hardware, I still reckon that anarchy edition, on the 360 is the best.
