How do I open console in RAGE?

I cant get the console to open. I have typed i "+set com_allowConsole 1" (without ") in steam launcher. Then when in game I press Tilde key (~). I have a scandinavian keyboard layout but can toggle to british keyboard layout, which I do, to be able to get ~ by just holding shift +

• key without having to press the space bar (like you have to do on the scandinavian layout). Does anyone else have this problem ? If you know how to fix, plz help!

Had tried that too. And if the launch box is empty as default you need to add the "set" for the first command in line. It turned out for me that changing the keyboard layout to ENG (USA) fixed it for me, Tilde key is now left to 1 key and under Esc key.

If you have european keyboard, you can just use the @ key, rather than changing your layout, as poster above did
