RAGE
Can you free roam if you have the Scorchers DLC?
I have the DLC, and I read the Extended Play Mode description, but I read many people saying the game ends after the last mission, and loads you back to your last save. Although these people didn't mention whether they have the DLC or not. Does the DLC enables freeroam post-story?

Yes you can. I always do the Rumbles mission under Oasis very early in the game and mainly to get the Rebar weapon from Sarah as it will help you dramatically further on in the game. She will instruct you into what she needs from the other DLC's.

You can then complete the game if you wish and do them afterwards, which is what I normally do anyway. You will then be asked 'Do you wish to continue?' And click on yes.

Also you can go to any location to complete anything you may have missed or re-do items from the mission boards.

Check my profile for guides as that may help.

The second addition is the "Extended Play" feature, which allows players who have completed RAGE to continue playing after the credits roll.

so i guess the dlc does let you keep playing

Yeah, I saw that, but I just wanna make sure. Have you finished the game?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you for the confirmation, glad to know. It seems this game and the DLC were underrated as many answers I searched usually never mentioned that fact.

Happy to help, feel free to ask me if you would like any further information.

Okay, I do have several more questions honestly:
1. Do enemies in bases (like Ghost hideout, Wasted garage) respawn if there's no mission that leads there?
2. Does this game have cloud saves now? I read many people saying only the configs are saved, but not the game data. However people who said these was over 5 years ago.
3. Do closed settlements re-open after the story? Are there easily missable quests/actions that prevents 100%?
4. Are there no melee weapons beside your fists?

Hmm OK, one at a time.
!. They respawn in Shrouded Clan hideout only as far as I have seen, but not many of them.
2. I have had no problems saving in this game ever and never lost anything when I do so.
3. You can go back and forth to any main settlement after completion, I do regularly.
4. Fists only I'm afraid, but they work just fine.

Many people will say that the ending is either wrong or not as it should be and all because you don't actually have to kill a dumb 'Big Boss' that many people seem to be obsessed with in every single game. If you take serious note of the story line, your aim is to release all hidden Arks that are around the world and guess what, that's exactly what you accomplish in 'this' story line. I believe that the 'Big Boss' i.e. 'General Cross' was always intended to be eliminated in Rage 2 but a change in the developer situation messed this up (and I won't go into great detail because it is boring after 10 years of discussion). Things changed somewhat and in R2 and although achieving this objective it was a very late follow up with a lot of extra things and variations from the original as far as know because of the changes in the development team and their ideas on how it should be done.

Note: Rage 2 is brilliant also, even with it's inherent bugs.

Have you ever played Rage on a different PC without moving the save files? Cloud saving is kinda important to me.

Ah yes I have played this on various PC's and laptops but always started the game from scratch each time and never had the need to moves files. Why do you want to do so?

So your previous saves are not available to load from your other PCs/laptops? I just think that cloud saving is a great way to preserve game save data.

Well, I've never tried to do so or even needed to I guess. I must admit that my new PC's were really upgrades and all hard drives were re-used to maintain stored information. The laptops are more for extra work and/or for times whilst travelling somewhere and it was never an issue. I guess very few games have been actually started and completed on them which has never been a concern.

Jesus, I don't know why it was so difficult to get a straightforward answer. Yes, the game supports cloud saves. I don't believe it did initially when I played it years ago, but it does now. For any game in your library, after you click on the game, click the little gear icon on the right side where there's also the "i", and I believe a star icon. So click the gear, and then click "properties". One of the options on the next screen will be to click a check box to enable cloud saves, if they're available for a game. If you don't see a mention of cloud saves on this screen, then they aren't enabled. Steam should have left the interface the way it was before, and you could immediately see the cloud icon on the list of all games instead of having to click each one individually, but it is what it is. I hope this answers your question. I don't get why someone asks you why you're asking a question. Either they can answer it, or they can't FFS.

I know this game has a cloud save to some degree, there's a checklist in the Properties section. The thing is PCGamingWiki still said only the config files are saved, and the size of the files stored in the Cloud is suspiciously small.

You missed the point didn't you?

The question I asked had nothing to do with 'Cloud Saves' directly, it was as to why they may need to be moved. 'THAT' is why I asked the question and nothing more than that!

When I am trying to help or assist someone, I try to get all the facts I can so as to give them the best answer I can.........Hence a 'Question' will be asked if I want to clarify a particular problem or whatever!

Also, seeing as I was discussing all this with the OP, I don't give a damn what you think!
