Rage Config file tool

At the link above locate the Rage icon on the page and click it --will load an interactive config file editor with dropdown menu selections for each setting. The "description" text for each selection would not render for Edge or the newest version of Chrome, but the tool tips did work so simply hover over the "description" text field to get a tool-tip. Once complete and satisfied with your settings click the create config file button at the bottom of the page. The completed config file text would not render in either of my browser, but scrubbing the file (text selection with blue hi-liting) would --simply select all text and copy it to a text file and proceed from there.

Rage finally looks decent on my hardware, so recommending this tool; it simplifies config file creation, presents all valid settings options and apparently creates valid config files that immediately work with Rage without any weirdness.

config file name is: rageconfig.cfg
file goes into the Rage game directory in the 'base' folder
DNA has config editors for quite a few games including ESV:Skyrim and DOOM 2016 as well as many other non-Bethesda/id titles.
