racing certificates

now i remember why i deleted this game in the first place. why is it i can only get certificates by racing. i play on pc and cannot drive the car with the keyboard. Stuck in wellsprings because i cant race. any other way to get certificates, or does anyone know what kind of controller i could use on a pc

You can also get certificates by destroying bandit vehicles...

I got all certs with the keyboard and I'm a real casual.

Just because it is easy for some people does not mean it is easy for everyone. Especially if there are reasons, eg medical, why it is not easy for the OP. I also play on PC and up untill a few years ago I always used kb&m, however now I mainly use a controller because there are times I can't lean forward to use kb&m cuz it is too painful to do so.

So please keep that in mind..

Are you referring to the part where you have to qualify? If you just tap A/D keys, stay off the gas while cornering, and don’t wreck you should be able to get under the time. Keep an eye on your map and boost during the straighter parts but let off the gas and slow down around corners. Keep trying you’ll get to know the map, which will make it easier.

I use a wireless xbox 360 controller.

The keyboard only "driving" setup in RAGE sucks. It's do-able with a little practice, and you HAVE to learn it if you want to play the game, but the steering should be done with either the mouse OR keys -- not with just the twitchy A and D keys (player's choice). I remember the cars in Borderlands2 were set up with mouse steering, and "driving" them (and racing -- there was a track) was truly fun. Driving in RAGE is more like a chore. Shouldn't games be fun?
