NVIDIA DSR not downsampling back to monitor resolution

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm trying to run this game at 3840 x 2160 (4k) using Nvidia DSR. It works flawlessly in every other game I've tried, however with Rage I'm having problems.

I'm able to select the resolution from the dropdown box in the options menu, however once I apply the resolution the game doesn't downsample back to 1080p (my monitor resolution). Instead it keeps the game at 4k and all I can see is 1/4 of the overall image on my monitor.

I've tried finagling with the rageConfig settings but so far no luck :(

I did it exactly like you said, but on my 1080p screen, in every DSR-Resolution above 2715x1527, i see only a part from the picture (the left side). Almost every other game runs perfektly in DSR-4k on my 1080p-Screen, but one or two Games (like Rage) only shows me a part of the picture. :( (but i think in the past i had it working in 4k)

I found a solution for Metro2033, which had the same Problem, and i will test it in Rage after i installed it again (i deinstalled it minutes ago-.-):

In the Nvidia-Control-Panel, under "adjust desktop size and position", under point 2 "Scalling", choose "no scaling" and if needed "override the scaling mode set by games and programms".

It did it for me ;)

Here is my solution:
It was suspicious to me, that without gpu rescaling, the size is just good with DSR. I set up the screen scaling to 200% in the Windows Display settings, which resulted Rage to run in 200% size. So, I set up the DSR resolution on the desktop, set back the magnification from 250% to 100%, and now, Rage just works fine with DSR.
So:
1: open the display settings window
2: select the resolution you want to use
3: set the text, application etc. scaling to 100% (I don't know exactly, as my Windows is Hungarian)
4: check if you set back and forth between your native and dsr resolution, both should retain the 100% size
5: start Rage, enjoy the DSR resolution

Bonus: This explains and solved why I got smaller resolution in Doom 3 with DSR than without :D

That will hopefully do the trick for you! However you may need to edit those settings/commands. Those settings are what should work if you're trying to run the game at 4k on a 1080p screen.

*Para aquellos que esten jugando en una resolucion de 1920x1080 en un monitor 24" y cuenten con una tarjeta grafica nvidia compatible con DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) y deseen aplicar el DSR o aquellos que lo intentaron y no les funciono, hagan esto (windows 10):
Opcion 1 - Abrir el panel de control nvidia > Pantalla > Ajustar el tamaño y la posicion del escritorio > en Ajuste de Escala seleccionan "Sin ajuste de escala" aplicar y listo.
Opcion 2 - Vayan a Inicio > Configuracion > Sistema > Pantalla > Configuracion avanzada de ajuste de escala > y en Ajuste de Escala Personalizado ponen 100% aplicar y listo.
En el panel de control nvidia activan los factores DSR, inician el juego y en las opciones graficas ya pueden cambiar la resolucion de 1920x1080 a 3840x2160 y a disfrutar del juego n.n
La unica pega es que al abrir la interfaz de steam se ve chiquito x)

Was having this issue with Far Cry 4 but the "adjust desktop size and position" solution wasn't working for me and was still getting stretched image not resizing problem.

Instead, what worked was going into the GamerProfile.xml and setting "Borderless" to 0. Haven't tried with any other games yet, but for FC4 issue was related to Window Mode setting
