Well, there were some that were even given to Yugoslav army in late 1944, so I think there would be at least some number of them in elite formation like VDV division. I agree that making full squads armed with AVTs wouldn't be realistic, but having 2-4 per squad like FG-42 in FsJ division would be ok.
Also we already got soviet cqc raider division in the last dlc, I personally don't think that soviets need one more 126 gornostrelki. What they need is something like 78 sturm or 3 fsj (in terms of infantry).
Is not what we whant or we need.Is abbaut what whas there in reality. And i whant for Romanian 1 Blindee, king tigers and pz6(tiger 1),but we havet pz4,tacam and pz3. This is life.

"Thanks to its do-or-die background, the 3-ya VDV....."

:Myflight: In Russia, we say: "die-but-do". (умри-но-сделай)

p.s.Do you feel the difference in meaning?
p.p.s. The deed will be done anyway. Death will not be in vain. Death is not an excuse.

:Myflight: We also have a proverb: "Die yourself, but help your comrade." (сам погибай, а товарища выручай) The author of the phrase: commander Alexander Suvorov.

Well in the last dlc we got finnish divisions with more svts than any soviet deck, which i have no problem with, but its not realistic. Also with the finns we have captured soviet planes that use rockets that the finns simply couldnt have acces to. The point is we already have lots of unrealistic divisions and no one, incuding me, has any problems with that, it was done to give us some cool divisions to play with and its absolutely fine, it is a game after all. The problem I have with this new vdv division is that it will be one more soviet cqc div, which wont bring anything new to the game because basically half of the soviet divisions right now are strong in cqc, we even got a specialised soviet cqc deck in the fof dlc, so there is no point in adding one more. Also, this is an elite soviet division that irl would have had access to some rare weaponary like avt-40s and scoped svts so i dont see how this would not be realistic and not giving vdv troops this kind of weaponary would be a waste of a good opportunity to make unique and fun deck.

Actually, it is.
SVT-40 were disregarded by Soviet soldiers (too maintenance-heavy for hastily trained recruits), and by mid-war were replaced back with the cruder yet always-reliable Mosin-Nagant. The remaining SVTs were dumped on less favored units: hence why non-Guards & "Red Poles" units have more than Guards ones ingame. Even partisans, which salvaged weapons from the battlefields of 1941-42, used them more.
While on the other side, SVT were praised by the Germans & Finns. Over 20.000 SVT-38 and later SVT-40 were captured by the Finns over the course of the Winter & Contination Wars.

So rare was the AVT-40 that its production had been discontinued after merely a year, in 1943, once it was made clear that the barrel couldn't withstand more than 200-250 shots. That's 20-25 magasines!

Hence, realistically speaking, by 1944, the very few which may have survived could only be found in one digit numbers in a regiment I guess, and were under strict orders NOT to be used in full-auto mode. Therefore, they were merely glorified SVTs ...

Oh, I didn't know that actually, thanks for the info about AVT, I genuinlly thought that they saw more use than it turned out. But my point originally was that vdv division is just one more soviet division with "some squads entirely equiped with smgs". I mean all soviet divisions have squads equipped with ppshs, and I was rather disapointed that vdv deck that was hyped up so much turned out to be one more 126 gornostrelki. Anyways, thanks for the info and I will be waiting for the dlc regardless, i am sure it will be just as great as the previous ones!
