Playing Army General campaigns solo
New player here. I just wonder what is your experience when playing tactical battles with multiple battalions. Do you let AI handle other battalions? Or do you choose to control all of them by yourself?

I’m still not sure what is the correct (the most efficient) way to play this mode. So far I played only some skirmishes 1v1 on small maps and AG scale is a bit overwhelming. It seems to much to control everything by myself. But the tutorial didn’t mention any ways to coordinate my actions with friendly AI battalions during the battle.

The AI is not good at managing your troops in AG mode, so the best choice is handling all the battalions by yourself, or you will suffer an astonishing rate of casualties. The only exceptions to this are the bomber and CAS squadrons, because the AI is very efficient in tracking and memorizing artillery and troop positions.

As for the feeling of being overwhelmed, don’t worry, it's normal for a new player. The game’s speed is mostly designed for offering the best experience in PvP mode, and so the game could feel quite paced against the AI, even in 1vs1, so don’t be afraid to pause or slow down during large engagements.

The smart orders, aka the only things the tutorials teach you, are mostly useless, except for artillery orders, so don’t use them. Next time you’ll need some help, I suggest posting on Reddit; the game’s community is way more active there.
Thank you for the suggestions.

I actually tried one AG tactical battle while using AI to command one of the infantry battalions and it performed pretty well (but I'm playing on easy difficulty). The main downside is that it's not possible to somehow coordinate the battle with the AI. The "smart" orders would be perfect for that.
