However, you should then at least buy all the DLC that include single player missions and campagins. (History Pass, Burning Baltics, Blood Feud in Transilvanya). No need for others that just add divisions unless you would like to play those in Skirmish.
The game has three modes for single player:
- The Army General campaigns: which mixes RTS battles with turn-based macro strategy
- Historical missions: specific scripted missions/scenarios
- Skirmish: A game played according to MP rules but against AI. You choose the map, game settings and your and the AIs battle group as you wish.
However, the game certainly is not the easiest and takes time and patience to learn. It lacks proper tutorials and many hidden mechanics are not explained. So be aware of that.
But if you're an military/history enthusiast when it comes to WW2. It should be a good buy. Especially when on sale.

Someone with 50 hours in PvP would wipe someone with 1k hours againts the unit-spawning algorigthm. Simple as.
I disagree I have seen many statistics that point to the game following historical accuracy, sure there are some things a bit odd with say for example armored warfare, but generally the smaller details and the statistics of each unit is fairly accurate
