Defending this historical scenario is very hard for the Germans. I have come close a couple of times but the air power of the Soviets in this scenario is hard to manage the closer to the end it gets.

I enjoy the challenge and I WILL beat this eventually, just wondering if anyone has a strategy or suggestion. I know it mostly a skill issue haha, but id feel better knowing there are others suffering in this scenario also lol

Make sure to have almost all initial deployment in the town to the west as it is almost unreachable during the battle. That's the most important thing I remember.

That is something I have been doing for sure. The partisans definitely do their job blocking the road, and if you spread out to defend that you just end up with less troops to the West.

For the west I've been using all sorts of defensive layouts. Hard to keep the AA alive midgame after the Soviets get some better artillery, which is hard to counter effectively as they out-range yours. And once the AA is gone it's over. Overall quite the pickle lol.

It is a 2 v 1 also against the Germans so its just double trouble. I think this may very well be the hardest scenario

It is difficult, but unfortunately I don't remember how exactly I managed to beat it.

Fortunately you don't really have to invest in defending the area near your call in zone, so you can put nearly all of your starting resources into the western town. Make sure to use all of your bunkers to cutoff the main bridges and once the battle starts send a majority of your reinforcements toward it to clear a path to the island.
Just like you have a really long drive to reach the west, the AI has a stupidly long drive to reach the east, which means you only really have to worry about infantry, so a handful of infantry/AA/machineguns setup can lock that area down just fine

Yea essentially the only thing I have in the east is 4 Grenadiers, 1 20mm AA, and a mg42 bunker. But I add those as the game goes on since like you said the east is fairly tame.

But no matter what I do, the west needs reinforcement at somepoint, and if you arent block partisans at the start, they slow down reinforcement drastically.

Its overall very hard, but I am determined af to get this done. I have gotten so close numerous times, losing in like the last few miinutes. Bound to get it soon enough
