Steel Division 2 - "The Fate Of Finland" DLC Announced!
Hello everyone.

We have some exciting news to share with you. Are you ready? Drumroll, please…

We are ready to reveal the next upcoming History DLC for Steel Division 2 “The Fate of Finland”. The expansion should launch within the next two months. We are hard at work, but we can’t tell you the exact date just yet.

Some of you internet sleuths already figured out that the next battlefield would be Finland. Very astute.

The new History DLC is set on the heavily defended Karelian Isthmus in the south-east of the country during the summer of 1944. The “Fate of Finland” DLC will bring six new divisions (three for both the Axis and Allies), as well as 200 new units, new camouflage skins, new aces, a new unit trait, a brand-new Army General Campaign, two new Historical Battles, and much more

Interesting stuff! Looking forward to it.

I'm hoping that there can be a campaign of the earlier Eastern Front at some point. I know the focus is on less-trodden paths but with the Army General feature, it would be really great to have a hands on experience with something like Kursk or the approach to and retreat from Moscow.

Excellent news!
Eugen continues to turning my dreams into reality. First - Bagration and liberation of Poland, rare sight in WWII games, especially strategy ones(seeing just endless Kursk/Stalingrad/Berlin holy trinity is very tiresome sometimes). Now Karelia, practically untouched, yet extremely important part of the battle for Leningrad. All of divisions and AG campaign look really interesting, and I can't wait to play the new DLC.

Only one thing bother me, through - 126-y L. Gornostrelkovy Korpus was sent to 14-ya army fighting Germans in Arctic, not Finns, and participated at Petsamo–Kirkenes Offensive.
Someone might have mix it with 127-y Korpus, which did fought against Finns during Svir–Petrozavodsk offensive in July 1944 as part of 7-ya army, before moving to Arctic too and joining 126-y Korpus at Petsamo–Kirkenes.

No, although the AG campaign focuses on Karelia, we've picked multiplayer units in the larger Finland/North area. We've selected 126LRC because it was made of two very different & original elements.

Same as SD2 at release featured multiplayer divisions which weren't part of the AG campaigns (Bezuglogo, 44GRD, ...).

Thx for the clairification, Madmat.
Indeed, ski troops + naval infantry --> just ski troops. And USSR air force was more diverse in the Arctic too. I was just suprised that while new Axis multiplayer divisions are concentrated around Karelia, one of the Allied ones operated far to the north and not even against Finland. But even better now that Arctic will be represented too, even through units - very interesting battle, and almost never seen(land one, at least), just as Karelia.

Actually, among the Axis divisions, Group Rääppana wasn't in the Karelian isthmus proper either (it won't be in AG) but fought at Ilomantsi: not as North as the 126LRC, but further North than Karelia.

I hope there would be Finnnish defensive fortifications as well, such as VT/VKT lines, represented through the the "fortress" batallions, mentioned for the Soviets. Anyway, still just from the gif snap of the AG map the campaign looks very promising.
