Buff 132 mm rockets soviets
Hi Eugen,

Was in a game where KTs and Elefants rushed the ride of the map in tannenberg.

Anyway long story short, but I believe the 132mm rockets need buffing.

I had an example where I hit a KT (P), dead center with 4 132mm rockets and the KT survived. It was severely damaged and was retreating. But IMO this should have been an instant kill.

Prove to me otherwise when a single tank gets hit with 4*132mm rockets that it survives.

Also while you’re at it, can we increase reload speed of rockets?

It's already the most effective and cost efficent MLRS ingame. No need for a buff.

Uh, no
That'd be the nebelwerfer with the huge ass rockets, it literally consumes the same amount of supplies yet does 3 times more damage
Katyushas just suck, king tiger has stupidly thick armor so dont bother unless youre using mortars
Katyushas are for counter battery only, or for killing panthers quickly (Their side armor sucks)
I'm rather hoping here that Eugen are basing the effectiveness of all weapons and armour on historical information rather than the preferences of us players. I'm seeing this as a more accessible contender to Graviteam Tactics, but for that it needs to be realistic.

No offence intended to any of the views expressed already on the thread. My only real knowledge of this is having read that in the western theatre rocket firing typhoons could overturn a King Tiger but still couldn't penetrate the armour. But I have no idea if Katyushas could penetrate Tiger IIs or not.

Wut.

To the OP, no, Katyushas are not going to insta-gib King Tigers - they're HE weapons, not AP weapons.
Well for historical context KT and Panthers were breaking down and abandoned during battle. But that isn't coded into the game for historical realism is it?

You guys are historical prudes who just say, we shouldn't do this because it's historical fact bla bla bla.

Well make the german tanks break down every now and then for no reason if you want historical context.

THis is a video game not a war documentary

That's true, but just because something realistic hasn't been added isn't a justification to start fantasising about the whole thing, is it? It could be argued, of course, that the numbers of such tanks available in the game reflect the reliability...

Why play a game that claims to be trying to be historically accurate if that's not want you want?

You want armour piercing MLRS systems in the game maybe I want guided man portable anti-tank missiles and drones why can't I have them?

tanks should be more vulnerable to getting tracked with HE in general

True but there needs to be a balance. The balance of this game sometimes is really bad. There's no counter for rushing elefants and KTs. Rockets are the only viable solution and they are weak.

Maybe CaptainSpacetime's suggestion about HE tracking would be a way to go?

17-pounders

Fireflys
Achilles
SU-85s

IS-2s
Andryushas
203mm Artillery
Bazookas
HEAT grenades
Cluster Bombs
SAP / AT rockets
...and more.

Lol have you seen 17 pounders against 4 KTs, 2 Elefants and 6 Grilles. There's no counter. In specific open map situations. a 17 pounder against frontal armour doesn't stop the above situation.

You also can't use cluster bombs and aerial because the other team uses AA. There's specifically no counter in that situation except heavy rocket barrages.

So don't shoot the tank where its armor is the strongest. ;) If the KT is in an open field with great LOS, smother it in smoke clouds so it can't see more than 2 meters in front of it.

Then hit their AA with artillery. Something isn't "OP" just because the opposing players refuse to leave their obvious weak point exposed.

Hi Eugen,

Was in a game where KTs and Elefants rushed

I wonder if the real problem here is that enough KTs and Elefants can be deployed to mount a rush. I would expect such vehicles to be so rare that they would be very expensive to deploy in game, and with very few available on the order of battle.

Maybe Eugen could control this by tweaking their cost and availability. That would have the advantage that they could easily treat Army General and PvP battles differently.

Thing is that KTs and elefants are, for the most part, already a bad/situational unit in all game modes but 10v10. Their success there is related more towards how people engages them in 10v10, with frontal assaults and max range fights, than to the unit being OP
