Hungarian divisions in Bagration
I was very pleased to find out that SD2 will participate Hungarian division, it will be a really interesting experience as yet in any RTS and even the wargames was not shown by Hungarian troops. But at the same time I was faced with a lack of knowledge of what kind of vehicles the Hungarians used in Operation Bagration. I would be very happy if knowledgeable members of the community will share some information on this topic! Thanks!

Well basically Hungarian "contribution" to Operation Bagration was 2nd Reserve Corps which had 4 Reserve Divisions ( almost same as Infantry division except with older men and equipment) and elite 1st Cavalry Division.

5th Reserve Division will propably have some access to tanks but this is probably made up of old tanks. At best, older Panzer IIIs and 38(t)s. At worst, FT-17 and CV33.

So the true Hungarian armor comes from the 1st Cavalry that was quite unique because all of its armor in its armored battalion were Hungarian. Not a single German tank. This gave division access to over 100 Turan tanks (roughly 1/5 was Turan IIs and rest Turan Is) and division had large compliment of Csaba armored cars besides fully motorised scouts and light infantry.

1st Cavalry gets support from German tank-hunters, from Marders to Hetzers. Basically it needs to have these available because Turan tanks are not that good against medium tanks. Especially against T-34/85 for example or even bigger ones.

Your escription fits our Hussars Division pretty well. ;)

The Reserve Division will have Somua & H-39 tanks, as you could find in the independant tank company attached to the corps.
Well atleast for 1st Cavalry I got few documents that are reliable enough to work with.

But I really hope that 5th Reserve will have more then really obsolete French tanks. It certainly will have access to 37/40mm 40M and 50mm 38M anti-tank guns and maybe even few Pak40s but this division is going to need bit punchier tanks and/or tank destroyers to have chance against what Soviets are bringing.

There was a japanese guy in a Chi-Ha who knocked out 2 Shermans, got into one disabled Sherman and knocked out a third one. Spirit is what often counts, not the Tank.

And there were recorded cases of aircraft taken out by rifle fire. Should SD2 make all infantry AA capable because of those few rare cases?

Wow! I never thought to see the Hungarians having French tanks... But according to what I have seen of the screenshots the Hungarians will also have Nimrods. But I was also hoping to see some tanks like Turan or Toldi...

I was only referring to its armors.
Of course it got other equipment, including AT guns.

"Spirit is what matters"

Japanese army commanders, Burma 1944, as their men starve to death and are forced into suicidal attacks on British positions on the slim chance of capturing food.

Morale aka Spirit, leadership training, doctrine, TO&Es, equipment and weapons are all a part of combat effectivenes but fighting spirit can't magically overcome all obstacles. Especially the Japanese army had total messed up TO&Es with way too much Infantry in relation to support weapons, no massed charge a la Banzai charge, which was even WW1 not a good tactic, can overcome the lack of indirect firepower and the vulnerability to automatic weapons.
