+1 Red Storm mod allows indirect fire for assault guns and many other good improvements to base game.
it benefits both sides so i don't see how it's op
But not many things can't be balanced by price and availability.
They were mounted on these platforms to be used as assault guns, the majority of the time they engaged targets they could see, so in other words they used an indirect fire weapon to engage in a direct fire role.
While semi-capable of indirect fire due to the nature of the weapon they have mounted their turrets were not modified to be used that way. They might be able to shoot in the direction of the enemy over something like a building or treeline but they had no way of accurately predicting where their rounds would land after that.. Using an observer to talk them on might have been a thing but still very inaccurate.
Long story short, I don't think these weapons should have the indirect fire perk added to them as historically they were not used as artillery, they were used as assault guns ISO infantry in direct fire engagements.
no need to increase price dramatically
just make the indirect fire slow to aim and inaccurate and it will be fine
