Go for 1vs 1 2vs 2 or 3vs 3s if you want less blobing . 4 vs 4s too but there might be bigger concentration of forces there.
1vs 1 and 2 vs 2 you have to cover a lot od ground so I would say there no blobing there.
Play 1v1 and 2v2 and getback here.
I have a blast playing SD 44.
SD 2 looks better & is much smoother with a lot of cool upgraded features that streamline the game play, but it plays completely different. Just no fun at all.
Just like Act of Aggression (Original version)- fantastic game.
Then we got Act of Aggression (Reboot version)- the devs listen to the complainers and simplified the game; aka- ruined the game.
So we have SD 2 that has:
1) Cheaper Units
2) Units die quicker
3) Units are able to be spammed more
4) Less Uniqueness in the Army Decks (a lot of the divisions all play the same)
5) Map Design that shows all the flaws of SD 2 even more.
6) Unit information during game play that is very convoluted & messy (like a new windows operating system that moves features around & makes it harder to accomplish something.)
SD 2 is a downgrade in terms of fun which IMO is due to the developers (who make great games) listening to a portion of the fan base that complained over features from SD 44 that were actually fun.
I will continue to support Eugene Systems because IMO they make great RTS games, but will they listen to the part of the fan base that complains over things that do not need to be fixed in their upcoming games?
Eastern front was on a much bigger scale so it makes sense that there are more units on the batelfield . My guess is thats the same reason units die quicker, there are more units after all...
I disagree in that I even dislike tactical games in SD2 because a scale in which the survival of single units decides the outcome of the game just highlights the shortcomings in unit mechanics. Individual units as I see it cant be controlled exact enough for this game to shine in tactical mode. The Steel Division (Wargame) gameplay mechanics simply make most sense in the context of large income games like seen in regular 4v4/10v10. Also there are more than enough games that provide smaller company scale rts engagements and only very few (none basically) that offer the sd2 divisional/army scale, so I would like Eugen to keep it that way. Lastly please refrain from constructing this idea that a large amount of people disliked the change in scale from SD44 to SD2 because I believe that in fact the the vast majority very much preferred it.
IMO the only thing that definitely got worse with SD2 is the lack of interesting artwork and an aesthetically pleasing interface. I mean yeah, the screenshots in the loading screen are decent, but its still a cheap substitute for proper artwork. Plus the entire user interface looks stale as ♥♥♥♥.
If it wasn't for people playing 10v10 this game would have died along time ago the only way we get more players and new DLC is because of the 10v10 game mode. so shut up about 10v10 games thats where 90% of the player base is.
Eugen themself said that 10v10 is only a fun mode and not focus of their balance, I mean its 10 man on a 4v4 map. Also most of the outside content aint 10v10, other then Vulcans sunday streams. So yeah 10v10 is a part of the game but its not whats kepping it alive it also doesnt have anywhere near of 90% of the MP playerbase, Max. 50% if even. (lots of private smaller games + 1v1 ranked and quickplay), and as in any RTS the biggest playerbase are Singleplayer guys.
because people are not careful enough and in the end the artillery will run out of ammo and the planes will die
then it's real skillful gameplay to make your opponent exhaust their last infantry or armor
I totally agree with you
