You definitely can play as other Allied nations as well, including the Fabulous American Empire~*. Some players even like to play as Maple Syrup Dire Bears of the North. :)
Back to War DLC brings the US 3rd Armored division and it is free with the purchase of SD44. It is typically much more cheaper this way. :) Depending on discounts of course ;)
Tribute to D-day is a wonderful $5 DLC that gives you access to the US 2nd infantry division: It is a fabulously well equipped division that is very popular among beginners and loved by experts as well.
or you could go for 3rd Nemesis pack for $3 which gives you access to the 2nd Kiwis which is also supremely well equipped, well regarded division.
If you would like to try Soviets again 84th guard is a very popular vanilla choice for beginners.
