Do I have to buy DLC to play other factions?
Hi, new to this game, still learning how to play. I have been playing russians most of the time and I find it really difficult. Germans on the other hand are relatively easier, But I don't want to give up on the allies.

How do I select other ally factions or german factions? Do I need a DLC? Do I need to buy steel division 1?

And steel division normandy 44 is cheaper on discount right now than the back to war pack.

Welcome to SD2 Lang :)

You definitely can play as other Allied nations as well, including the Fabulous American Empire~*. Some players even like to play as Maple Syrup Dire Bears of the North. :)

Back to War DLC brings the US 3rd Armored division and it is free with the purchase of SD44. It is typically much more cheaper this way. :) Depending on discounts of course ;)

Tribute to D-day is a wonderful $5 DLC that gives you access to the US 2nd infantry division: It is a fabulously well equipped division that is very popular among beginners and loved by experts as well.

or you could go for 3rd Nemesis pack for $3 which gives you access to the 2nd Kiwis which is also supremely well equipped, well regarded division.

If you would like to try Soviets again 84th guard is a very popular vanilla choice for beginners.

Please enjoy~ :)
I don't have bought DLCs about western divisions, but yes, soviets are much more difficult to play than Nazis (for a beginner), so what you're experiencing is absolutely normal. But as Rakko has said, the 84th guard's corp is a nice choice for beginners, as it's one of the few well rounded soviet divisions, and its only weakness is a general lack of medium tanks (just one card of T-34/76 + one card of t-34/76 recon). For the rest, they have access to IS-2s and IS-2s mod. '44, and they have A LOT of infantry, an acceptable recon tab, good air, good artillery and excellent AA.
Thanks guys. I gotten Normady before sales end. Appreciate the advise.
