Performance on a low end laptop?
I was kind of a fan of first game (sadly the lack of active player base ruined it for me as only hardcore players left and im not that good) and i was never happy about its performance on my laptop. People saying SD 2 is better performance wise, but is it really so?
I have intel pentium silver n5000 4 cores cpu, 8 gb of ram and nvidia geforce mx110 2 gb vram video card. The laptop is quite low end as you can see, so that being said, do i have a slightest chance of playing SD 2 even on low settings?

Hmmm.... well, I have a very old computer: it is 11 years old Intel Lynnfield i5-750, which just happens to be a quad core processor without hyperthreading just like your Pentium n5000. My Lynnfield is accompanied by 16GB DDR3 along with a cute mini GTX1080. All the hardware is quite dated as you can see.

SD2 seems to perform fine up to 4v4 with recommended graphics settings, which is somewhere between medium and high settings. I have never encountered any slow downs so far. So perhaps your CPU and memory may be sufficient for 4v4. I am a bit concerned about the graphics card however, perhaps it may require you to use the lowest graphics settings.

Well, you have quite a lot of ram (rather old though) and definetely a very good gpu which somewhat balances your old cpu. Anyway, thank you for your reply! I think i just need to test it myself, thanks steam allows refunding

I play on my laptop on low settings surprisingly well. I have a i5-7200 and 8GB of RAM.

What gpu do you have?

Do you have a thunderbolt port? If so, you may want to look at an external graphics card. Razer sells one, and a few other brands sell them too. Your basically buying an enclosure that houses a PSU, fan, and a chipset that allows the video card of your choice to communicate with your laptop..

If you don't have one, my next choice if buying a gaming laptop or let alone building your own rig is out of the question - would be to overclock the graphics card & CPU..

There are also streaming services you can subscribe to that will run your game and process all of the back end graphics for you, I'm not sure if any are compatiable with this game - but it's also worth a look.

Device manager says "intel HD graphics 620".

I think you end up losing the close in detail mostly. However the game is played zoomed out 99% of the time. I think it's nice to zoom in occasionally, but it's not like you have such luxury when you're scrambling to manage everything happening.

Hey guys, any way to descrease system requirements for the game? Im struggling to play it on Lenovo V580 laptop, i3 3120M, 2.5Ghz 8 GB RAM, GeForce 645M.
It is ok to play up to 4vs4 games but 10vs10battles usually end up with "disconnected because your PC is crap" scenario for me =)

I have already tried nvidia geforce now, it supports SD and the game runs quite well (despite the fact that me, my gf and my friends couple are living together and all using the same one wi-fi, usually about 8 devices connected at once, connection is somewhat stable ntl), but it does not support SD 2 and that is a shame.

Buying or building a new pc is the most effective option, but with this coronavirus underway i'm very short on dough atm

And of course my crappy laptop doesn't have a thunderbolt, and even if it had, i would not consider an external gpu a valiable option, simply because with my current cpu and ram it makes little to no sense to use a good gpu

If building a PC utilizing a credit card w/ say a 24-36 month interest free deal is not an option, nor overclocking - consider Nvidia GeForce Now. This cloud based gaming service is actually quite interesting, as it utilizes most games found in your steam library.. It doesn't look like they support SD2 - yet, however, if I were in your situation - I'd reach out to them and see if they can add it.. As they already have steel division normandy 1944
