Division Breakdowns
Is there a breakdown of each division somewhere? I get real confused especially with all the Soviet numbered division and can't really tell them apart. Or like what they're good at or geared against.

Something that says like "this division has strong heavy tanks backed by numerous infantry but weak anti-air" etc etc.

It can be fairly daunting initially. Look at Vulcan HD's channel

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNXVd4VLAt5f2M0ZPITq9Hg

He has a lot of division reviews that will help you make sense of what is going on. Also join the official discord in the pinned threads above and ask your questions there. We usually have a few hundred players on line and they are all very happy to help introduce people to the game.

Generally though it is

Tank corps.
Good tanks and AA, limited infantry and passable artillery. Air does not include tankbusters.

Strelky divisions.
Lots of infantry and artillery but fairly limited tanks, though some like 84th guards is an exception, Good AA and good planes including tank busters.

All the others are unique composite forces that might have various traits.

There is not really list like that, there are some tier lists for 1v1 witch shows what divs are good and considered not so good (though it lacks the fate off finland divisions)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p__WSe_QpxU&t=70s

But if its only for the Soviets a quick and simple overview would be this were each division, I would say this is as accurate as a short list can go. Ofcourse alot off divs have more going on then just this but to keep this what they specialise in in a sentence.
Hope this helps!

2-ya Gvard. Tankovy Korpus - lots off T-34/85's

29-ya Tankovy Korpus - good amount T-34/85's with some IS-2 tanks

3-ya Gvard. Mechanizi. Korpus - lots off Sherman tanks with a good amount off in and some AT guns / tank destoyers.

3-ya Gvard. Tankovy Korpus - good amount sherman tanks with some IS-2 tanks

Podv. Gruppa Tyurina - some good infantery with lots off T-34/76 tanks.

Podv. Gruppa Bezuglogo - 2 Tiger tanks and some decent infantery and good amount off planes

9-ya Gvard. Kavalerii - plenty off shermans with cheap and decent infantery, decent arty & air aswell though lacks AT.

26-ya Gvard. Strelkovy - Plenty off inf, a small but good tank tab, few but good arty pieces, lacks AA & has alot off AT planes.

44-ya Gvard. Strelkovy - Plenty off inf with some T-34/85 tanks

84-ya Gvard. Strelkovy - Plenty off inf with some IS-2 tanks

184-ya Strelkovy - plenty off inf with some ISU-122 tank destroyers, good amount off arty guns and planes.

Armia Krajowa - alot off good infantery, some captured German heavy tanks, but poor anti-air and poor arty.

1 Piechoty "Tadeusza Kościuszki" - alot off inf with a good amount off T-34/76 tanks

126-y L. Gornostrelkovy Korpus - alot off good inf, pretty few light and medium tanks, pretty limited in arty aswell but a good amount off planes.

Podv. Gruppa Vyborg - older heavy tanks with IS-2 tanks, but has few inf options.

358-ya Strelkova Div - plenty off inf with some ISU-122 tank destroyers, but has some better arty then the 184-ya Strelkovy but therefore pretty bad AA.

If you look at the bottom text on each division it actually tells you a what its good for, not sure if its accurate tho.

When you look at the list of division just press one and look at the text on the right, and the bottom part is like a summary.

26th is the best Soviet Division in the game in any game mode.

If it helps, here is the link to overview for division playstyles compiled on Reddit. Its kinda old and does not account for most of the DLC divisions(only Back to War and Preorder Pack ones are covered), but can help.

Agreeable, it's the crazy combination of super heavy tanks / good mediums and air support with the Yak-9s that can kill a tiger in a single pass with cheap infantry and elite infantry that costs the same as guards with DP that makes them something else, and just to top it off they have SU-85s and offmap barrages, the cheapest soviet infantry and motorcycle mortars

This is what's been helping me in finiding a division's strengths / weaknesses at a glance. The last paragraph (after the historical background) usually sums up the division with lines like, "this division has powerful tanks but weak anti-air and must rely on fighter support" or "this division's troops are well equipped to fight other infantry but may struggle against enemy armor".

Ooh noice. Watching that tierlist video now. What I guess is kinda overwhelming is it seems like it's beneficial to "main" a division. Or at least it (seems) to take quite a few matches to get a handle on what a division is like and then there's dozens of divisions to go through. Using your list to narrow down what sounds the most fun lol.

Cool I've been running the 26th against the AI trying to get a feel for them.

They are a solid high end division but fairly unique in their playstyle. 29th tank corps would be another division to try with a totally different playstyle.

If you can make it to the point where you are beating hard AI regularly then you are better than half the players out there.
