How is this game still so expensive ?
How is this game still so expensive ?

I mean this game is mainly focused on multiplayer but only has around 200ish players playing the game.

Still I have to pay 40 euros for this game? This is almost the same price as for AC or FC which both are some of the best rated singleplayer games with amazing campaign and graphics.

How does a small indie game like this that has been dead since pretty much release the guts to charge customers so much money?

On top of that, this does not even look so much different than SD1.

Not trying to be a jerk or unreasonable troll here, I just noticed this and it frustrates me as for what this game is, I would be willing to pay 20-25 euros immediately.

PS :Lower price would also boost the playerbase and get more players in to multiplayer.

It has a lot of content, is a niche title and 40€ is a pretty low price anyway.
You can get it on sale for 20-30€ iirc quite often, so just be patient.

It goes on sale occasionally, put it on your wishlist and it will alert you when it does.

It's just as much a SP game as multiplayer with skirmish, scenarios and campaign. In fact I'd say it's better as a SP game.

Bugger off if you dont wanna play a game that isnt AAA. Only because a studio is small doesnt mean it doesnt need to earn money. Also doesnt mean it cant provide hundrets of hours of fun....
Also calling Farcry top level game design when it is basically copy pasting the same bs since Farcry 3 (which was real good sure but yeah) is pretty wild. Whilst AC sure changed the concept ones with the egyptian one but now its back to being a copycat also + all have the good old Ubisoft formula. SD2 is actually more original compared to those games when it comes to differences to its predecessor.

Actually, saying that Steel Division is a mainly focused multiplayer game is statistically and factually wrong.

Only 18% of all customers who bought the game have 'won' ONE multiplayer match.

There's a reason why they are putting so much effort into the single player campaign and experience. And that's because most of the customers who buys the game seem to play against the AI and not multiplayer.

Simply because is a GREAT game

Be patient! I got it on sale during the Xmas season so it DOES happen. Perhaps in Spring it will go on sale once more.

Have hope!

Not surprised this game does not grow considering they are probably only listen to these fanboys who can't handle any type of criticism.

Just play sd44 as many of us. Its much better.

Get it via steam key sites, it's cheaper. But of course with all add-ons/dlcs it's still pricey, but well worth in my humble opinion. You get lots of content, properly researched (they've really put an effort into this), in my opinion the best tactical WW2 game out there right now. (SD '44 unfortunately is pretty muich dead, no players around and SD II has a lot more to offer than the predecesor)

Sd44 is not dead. There is a group chat of sd44 players, where you easy can find game for 5-10 minutes. In addition sd44 is truly tactical rts, unlike the sd2, where gameplay is around calling right units on the battlefield.

https://steamcharts.com/app/919640 Game has second best month of its history, sure it could need some more advertisment + maybe a free weekend but base price is 100% fair.

I suppose that you never heard about niche games, or anything between AAA and indie. Those can be pretty much expensive(I remember discovering some train simulator on Steam with 10-12 times the cost of AAA game and hordes of DLC and being actively played by fans), and still retain their playerbase. And, SD:2 is more leaning to single-player, then to multi, unlike Company of Heroes and such.

Depending on where you look. German divisions and Western allies are well-researched indeed, while Soviet divisions are sometimes strange, not matching their historical equipment and/or composition.

All in the terms of balance, its no fun in esport to get overwhelmed by the red horde as it was in reality.
Instead of giving singleplayer and mp different settings and rules of playment, like a complete seperate and balanced based combat and division setup. They just prefer to shorten the russians in strength, add many not operative german war stuff, on top solved their shortage on supply and gave them back a competitive Luftwaffe.
Surely not the best game design choice if you wanna attract SPs and MPs. You dont have to be a genius to know that one or even both sides wont be satisfied

I only see one response that isn't pleasant, but you make it out like everyone responding is a fanboy.

Perhaps, if the price tag isn't to your liking, you can wait for a sale or just move on? Is that a fanboy response too?
