Actually, NSD44 did support some limited modding, but mostly, like text files.
Not, say, 3d modding, and animations, or godzillas.
Yes, actually never. And thats what make me sad. Almost every strategy in our days have modding tools
But at least from what I only know that vehicle models could get imported.
Tried to have an artillery model ported into the game, but it didn't work right cause I didn't know the higherarchy of the artillery, or how to animate it either.
But tanks or cars worked fine and it was a great addon!
edit:
Oh yeah, and in SD44 you could add new divisions, new units, etc. Adding a giant infantryman(Godzillas) is possible in SD44. MrCrisps did all those things in SD44 for his Storm in the West mod!
Was hoping they would re-add modding tools(mostly to import models) cause I was already preemptively trying to make an SD2 mod, that was actually my main motivation for getting SD2. ._.;
I noticed the Store page said workshop content, but should I just give up on SD2?
edit2: I trust the workshop icon in the storepage. = w=)7
I dont see why DIvisions shouldnt be as modable as in SDN44, and if it didnt change big time some of the modders of SDN44 even know how to model in new 3 models by now and create fully new vehicles (not just different armed and skinned infantry or hiddenfile vehicles), so WW1 mod and others might come :)
You were just no one did it..... And no you didn't had to replace other units with your creation. I mean you could even create new buffs etc. Just look at storm in the west. And there is a way to create and add new models and the creators of storm in the west and divisions in Normandy worked on it but it wasn't worth the work anymore as this was after the sd2 announcement so they waited for sd2. If they like the game they will do it in sd2.
And I consider inf units with new unique weapon load outs new units too. But since you flamed a Modder for not updating because he was busy in real life, I can't take you seriously anymore anyway....
And btw SD44 = artillery spam, SD2 = tanks spam. I see tons of videos from SD2 beta and i must say this game looks boring. 40 minutes and frontline nearly doesnt change and all players bringe a few inf and tons of tanks. If all games are the same, it gets boring rly fast... Still have it in my wish list, but not buying this one right now. Maybe if price will be 19.99.

The article says that these tools will support total conversion mods? My question is, when are we getting a 40k mod.
