Would go back to the game for the Army General element if this issue was fixed, but as the above posts are almost 3 years old I doubt that will happen, unless anyone knows a fix.
Do you have like a special wide monitor? For instance.
How about this.
Go to GeforceNow. Sign up for the free service.
It will let you play games essentially from a streamed gaming computer. They have paid versions which like guarantees a higher quality PC, longer "session" time, etc.
I use them because my gaming rig broke down. They don't have EVERY game, but they do have many including SD2.
you will be at least able to play it an maybe solve the issue.
PS: you get 1 hour per session with the free one, That simply means you need to go out of game, then go back in. As there is a physical limit to how many PC they have (Tens of thousands.) I use the priority ($10 month) and have never been queued, but you can't beat free.
I also play MP games with GFN, and even one as better ping because GFN's servers are closer.
No, this seems to be an issue not all have just some. I have a GeForce GPU but I don't think that has anything to do with it, and it only seemed to happen when I added 4 mods (changing the mod file to allow for 4). Tried it then without the mods and continued. Refunded as it was just plain annoying having to start a game twice to play.
Some mods alter stuff in there and don't properly uninstall if you remove them. So when you reverted things back there where still changes in that folder.
Odd that the effect they caused was a false start (the opening screen but with no logo), quit, re-launch and everything's fine. You'd think the effect would be no launch, period! That's why I wondered if it was something else.
