That is why you have never seen custom maps or community made maps in Wargame, SD44 and now this one.
Yup, it's because of Eugen's proprietary IRISZOOM engine which is both sophisticatedly complex and undocumented to the public. Without any documentations or SDK it's literally impossible for any third-party modder to create any form of substantial mod for the game.
So yes, nobody is going to see any new maps or in-game assets unless Eugen themselves make some form of technical documentation regarding their engine or offer some form of open (or closed) development tool for the game to potential modders.
Eugen have all the ASSETS already done to make a NORMANDY Dynamic Campaign as DLC. :D
All the specific bocages, houses, farms, villages, ... models.
Adding them would suddently inflate the size of the game on one's hard-drive. I'm sure someone will immediatly claim he doesn't care and want them, but there are people who wouldn't appreciate if they couldn't afford the game install.
