The other issue is there aren't enough Destruction Mode maps. I don't know how or why there are so few playable maps in Destruction Mode. There should be no difference in the map list. Even if all the maps were playable in Destruction Mode, it would help alleviate the annoyance in not being able to play Total Destruction in the CTF modes.
i only play single player, and cant be ars ed with a zerg rush game to win
Nothing annoys me more than losing to a time limit.
Sadly, this topic had already been closed a long time ago. It has been seen many times by the developers... They are aware of it and said they won't introduce a no-time limit option as the game was apparently not designed for it and they say its mechanics would not work with it.
Which is why I abandoned playing this version a long time ago and went back to SD:44. Sad, because there were some good things in SD:2, graphics and atmosphere among them.
What I found weird was the occasional hostility here in the forums for asking about that feature... some people felt strangely offended by the idea that a game could become more accessible to a wider audience by adding a feature. So should your comments end up getting smashed don't be too surprised. :(
Add the time limit option on/off. Simple. Let us play around with encirclements, double envelopments etc. Who cares if some people want to spend a couple of hours setting and playing a long slow tactical set piece battle..it's enjoyable and in no way affects how others want to play.
It's not like this game is WiTE that requires hundreds of hours of thought out gameplay, but it would be nice to spend a little bit more time if one wants to.
Yep that's all I'm saying as well. Make it an option. People that want time limits can still have them. Doesn't interfere with either play style. But for me, Zerg rush just isn't as fun in a game that is designed with more tactics in mind. Oh well. There's a mod that allows you to increase the time limits but it's currently broken as it wipes out all of your Battlegroups when activated. I may have to look into modding it myself.
