Buuut, there's little game called Immortal Planet on steam..
souls-like is a very simple statement that define a hard-to-master & stamina based combat sys. Can't understand the problem the world has in using simple definitions to explain things. Souls-like games exist since Demon Souls as roguelike, FPS, cRPG and so on 😅
I am interesting the game because of it being an isometric rpg as i love them in general i couldn't care less if it was souls like or not.
You're not killing hundreds of enemies at once because you're some all powerful god like character, so it's not an ARPG.
Souls-Like CRPG fits what I've seen of this game perfectly. It reminds me of the old Ultima Games and looks fantastic.
Exactly! People fail to understand that. Haters gonna hate
This! :D
Awwww <3
Uh?
What's the issue? :D
BTW, as Drumheller underlined, souls-like is actually a genre as any other (roguelike, walking sim, FPS, whatever) with very specific gameplay elements. Our idea was to bring 3D mechanics in an iso environment, keeping the hard-to-master feel of the CS. We love Exanima (being in touch with the guy developing it way before the release, trying to coproduce it!) but the game is physic based which is something completely different from the things we have in mind. Same for the old stuff you've posted. A modern game that we were looking at when we thought about Alaloth was EITR, which is no more apparently.
Would be great to have an ala-like genre in the future :P
