I believe Xaloc have an ability to do what [said video does] by
simply opt any or one of the Controller Types (think Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and even Generic Controllers) into Steam Input. That should be available on the Steamworks Settings.
Certain PC Games has taken that approach, and I appreciate them for making it easier to play PC Gaming with a Controller...
However, the downside is that this (and the video's) method will translate your controller as an "Xbox Controller", since the majority of PC Games uses XInput API. That's fine and dandy for most cases, but if a game is known to have Native support for PlayStation Controllers, they may have to temporarily disable it either on [Game Page on the library] > Properties > Controllers or turn it off System-wide.
This might be a problem for Steam Deck users who may decide to Dock their Deck to the Television and plug their Game Controller, and the first thing they'd see is this. [cdn.discordapp.com]
But, game developers can let Steam Input to handle the Button Prompts detection instead of letting the game to it...or they could just add a in-game option to switch Button prompts.
