How to access main menu from inside the game?

It may seem a dumb question, but I can't for the sake of anything get back to the main menu with the game running.

It may be unrelated, but I'm playing the game on Linux over Proton.

Not sure if this will help but just confirming that when i play, its the escape key i press. I dont know anything about Linux tho

Esc key not working in most contexts, including, eg.g., leaving build mode - I have to hit "B" to get back to the main game interface. Same for "U", etc.

Is there a way to change that key binding?

I'm sorry, but why doesn't Escape work? Because of Linux?
Escape cannot be relinked at the moment.

Would a clickable button be viable?

Idk why esc doesn't work. It's selective, it works in some contexts and not in some others.

I've been playing games on Linux/Proton for many years and never seen this behavior.
