In all honesty I cannot recommend this game to anybody who likes to have fun in competitive games.
Anyway:
-You will not have fun as a new player. You will be curb stomped by a handful of vets coordinating their actions through discord 9 games out of 10. Maybe more. Because there's no matchmaking based on skill or time played.
-The sheer incompetence of current managment of this game is baffling. You may think that all the tricks for f2p games to keep people playing are well known for a long time, but CEOs (or whoever is responsible for this game) seem to steer clear from them and instead keep adding overpriced cosmetics.
-All the rewards are laughable. You get a little bit of in-game-currency coins for a match and that's it. Very little things in the shop are bought with coins. You can win a chest with random rewards once a week, but the percentage of good reward drops is minuscule even in the best chest. Dragon pass is a bit better, but you need to buy access to it with real money, and with each season rewards are getting worse.
-Devs promised (and actually made) a permanent PVE game mod, but alas! it was taking players away from the PVP mods, so it was shut down.
-The game is very repetitive, new maps are very rarely released (and some of them are just recolors of existing ones) so it gets boring pretty fast.
-After reduction of player number in matches from 6vs6 to 4vs4 game became even more unfair to solo players.

Ok now the good parts:
-Graphics are pretty nice! Designs and animations of the dragons are also very cool. Existing maps are full of fun nooks and details. Baby dragons are adorable! And there is a cool little quest system to make them grow. Too bad you likely won't see them because dragon eggs are barely in the game now.
-Matches are short, dynamic and fast paced. Flying feels nice.
-Easy controls.
-It is not pay-to-win. There are classes and abilities you can purchase in game for in-game currency, but those are pretty balanced- they might add some new playstyles but won’t make anybody more OP.
-I don’t think there are cheaters there. Probably. Maybe because I cannot fathom why anybody would want to cheat in an almost dead game with almost no rewards¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Super fun game. love the art work, wish more people played it.
