They have flamethrowers - thats definition of dragons in common.

Wyvern - a winged two-legged dragon with a barbed tail.

MEH.... HOW CARES... IF THE TRUE FORM OF A DRAGON IS LIKE "WYVERN" AND NOT 4 LEGS.....JUST LIKE A PEGASUS ?... IT IS MORE LIKE A BAT

Wyvern are Wyvern
Dragons are Dragons

But i am not picky about this in games, not everyone can be a dragon enthusiast to get these definitions right all the time.

Generally wyvern are smaller, faster and more mobile then dragons and have their forearms developed as wings. They pay for this with less body strength. Even though even wyvern can spit fire, dragons have much more powerful fire.

There are variations everywhere, but thats the general direction for me.

After all, for a fast paced game like this, utilizing wyverns swiftness makes much more sense.

By all mean you are not a dragon enthusiast yourself sir. Actually quite shamefull Mr.

you see you mean WEsTERN Dragons which have 4 legs then there are EASERTN Dragons which are basically glorified noodles [change my mind] and then there are wyverns or other kind of non flying dragons like the dragons from earthwind german saga which are by definitions dragons since they are all belonging to 1 biological tree [if you go by fantasie lore of course in the end it is all fictional now isn`t it?]

Other than that

an Eagle is the same as a Chicken a Bird

maybe that is how you understand it better?

They are maybe not western dragons but they belong to the category of dragons.

so a 9mm is the same as a .44 magnum and a .44 is the same as an ak47 or an AR-47? if it shoots bullets who cares right? XD

They are all firearms. Using your analogy, what you and OP are touting here is basically: "They are not guns, they are Ak47's." Sounds ridiculous if you ask me.

"Dragon" is a blanket term for all of the various types and species of fictional large creatures, that usually (but not always) have wings, breath fire, have scales and tails & such. This includes Wyverns, Drakes, Wingless Dragons, Western Dragons, Eastern Dragons etc. Just because there is one type of dragon that are simply specified as "Dragon," (4 legs, separate wings) doesn't mean that the other species aren't included with the term.

Where is your actual historical source about Wyvern/Dragon/Lindwurms?

For me, dragons were allways 2 legged and looked more like bats, like in Reign of fire ( which I still think is the most beautiful dragon ever ), and never like Draco from Dragon Heart.

I'd be ok with wyverns called "dragons" if there would be no stupid human riders. It kills all the thing to me. Dragons are sentient and intelligent beings, not a flying horses!

wyverns a very much dumb horses... like a chicken is not an eagle but still a bird.

Edit:
Of course western or eastern dragons woul dbe inteligent beings and not dumb beasts.

Also if the wayvern is fine with carring a human why not? who are you to judge the wyverns friendship with his rider? You gonna force your belives into a fictional gaming world?
