How to hatch a baby dragon?
Just wondering, as I've just now received it by buying it from the trader for 300 gold which didn't net me the achievement "hatch a baby dragon"

You have to befriend somebody who has a baby dragon. He knows how to hatch them.
Or you can find a shop which offers this service.

Maybe the achievement requires you to hatch it yourself.

Somebody? But that was just a nameless trader? I never encountered anyone with baby dragon yet. Neither there was any shop selling eggs. I expected some less vague directions, this will hardly help me if I restart the game, this happened to me in Chapter 5, just before I got the offer to become magic advisor for the queen. I play the game via the website choiceofgames, it's the best way to kill time at work, steam obviously isn't an option for office computer. BTW I also noticed that all achievements glitched for me suddenly, I now have only one achievement unlocked even though I never restarted the game))) I mostly chose vivomancer way of studying magic.

You can steal the dragon eggs near the dragon in the introduction scene at the Ancient library. There are many ways to steal them: sneaking, flying, divertion, ...

The man to befriend is the Priest of the Sun. Be nice to him, show him your talents in vivomancy, and he will ask if you can heal his baby dragon. In return, he will hatch your eggs.

Hmm, thank you for suggestion.

You mean the attack of the sleeping dragon by the end of Chapter 1?

Weirdly enough, there was never any option to steal anything from him for me, I could only sneak past him (which was never effective, and resulted in him waking up anyway), use divination, glamour or stab him with Luxgladius which I never did because I'm a peaceful type. I always chose divination which was unefficient too but at least dragon wasn't harmed and didn't attack me unlike with the use of glamour. The option to hit him with Luxgladius I never chose.

And yea I did befriend the priest and healed his dragon.

Nvm, I restarted the game at home from the very beginning and found it out, you need to use divination to check for the most valuable thing instead of ally, that way you won't learn about golem but learn about eggs. I wonder whether it's possible to still receive golem that way or you exhange him for egg forever.

I haven't found another way to get the Golem. But you can definitely get the Golem and the Eggs (as well as many other things) if you make the right choices.

The beginning seem slightly unbalanced.
Seems like if you pick the wings, you get a chance to get the golem, egg, extra clothing, and get visit all three rooms for loot. Whereas if you pick one of the other two choices, it nets you fewer items, since you're forced into the dragon encounter earlier.

There are also very long paths in the ancient library which won't involve wings.
The game is very surprising at that.

Healing Tal immediately nets you a lux gladius and your fighting won't go down, you can still get the golum egg and visit 3 rooms

Around the time you can animate the monkey is where you can lock yourself out of doing more than 1 room

On hatching dragons: You can hatch your own if you purchase the book 'Dracus Monopati (The Draconian Life Cycle)' from the bookstore in the city of Edra.

This will give the achievement and is handy if you aren't friendly with Sam on a playthrough.
