Better than Choice of Robots?
I've tried to get into other Choice of games but robots was the only one I was invested enough to continue in, is this better?

That highly depends on your definition of "good". You can't screw up the start as much as you could in Robots, and stat gains are more straightforward, but otherwise it's a quailty magitek-fantasy work.
If you do give it a go, I highly recommend to skip looking at the stats altogether for your first playthrough and let events unfold as you see fit, not as they should. I managed to die by literally pressing "yes" on a "do you really want to off yourself trying to cast that" prompt.

Me too!
The entire reason i bought this game was because it was made by the same person who made choice of robots.
Until i played this game choice of robots was my favorite choice of games... game.
I would suggest getting it.

Having played both a ton of times, I do indeed think this Choice of Magics is the best game made of its kind. The choices are insanely deep

I'll throw my hat in that Choice of Magic is better in all. As some one that just played Robots and got this one after I found it is better almost across the board, as if the author really learned from Robots. I find equally as many branches in this one as robots (Its main strength to me was the bredth of options if not exactly their debth in Robots) but where Robots would spend just a little time on any one event then whisk you forward Choice of Magic seems to linger -just- long enough on every event to make it feel more impactful and fleshed out without slowing the overall pacing down really. (Also think the writer has just improved a little in the overall.) While it still has a good deal of humor it also seems a little less tounge in cheek than Robots with less 'meta' refferences. All in all I found Choice of Robots to be good, where as Choice of Magics is excellent so far (still need more playthroughs.) My favorite of this sort of games is still Fallen Hero from Hosted Games for a purely narrative perspective, but Choice of Magic is the best game I have found for straddling that line of full choice and actually fleshing out each of those paths when you go down them. Just my two cents.

I love both Choice of Robots as well as Choice of Magics. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be Choice of Magics, without question. But then I love both magic and robotics as themes and it really shows that the author learned quite a bit from his previous two games.
P.S. : Don't get choice of Alexandria, it's really short.

I get the impression that there are a lot of third-rate Choice of Games - Choice of Dragon was super disappointing, I think I only like Kevin Gold written ones.

I have Choice of Alexandria, but haven't played it yet! Short could be good for me.... I have such a deep love of Choice of Magics so I'm biased towards liking it.
