Keen running slow and and glitchy

I just bought and downloaded the Keen Complete pack, and am now kindof regretting it, Keen 4 and 5 run unplayably slow.. the games work but there are little glitches and freezes which make the game run slower and hence unplayable... this is very frustrating

has anyone else encountered this? or does anyone know how to potentially fix this?

(and i have already tried selecting the 'fix jerky motion' option in the configure menu - it does nothing to help)

Have you tried pressing CTRL+F12 to speed up the DOSBOX emulation cycles?

it works as good as it does on my old computer
