Definitive Edition and starting a game now

If I start a game now will it incorporate the definitive edition features when that update comes out? Or will a new save need to be made to experience definitive edition features?

Well, it depends ;) The new case we are adding will be completely separate from the Main Game.
We're also adding new content to the Like Father Like Son case and here you will indeed need to start the new game to enjoy it.

Will the new case that is separate from the main game use the same char. Or will it have its on that you make just for that case?

I don't want to spoil things ahead of the official release, but in this new case, you will play as a predefined character. Someone you should be already familiar with if you played the main storyline. Unfortunately there will be no option to create your custom character.

Everyone who owns the original will receive a free update to Definitive Edition :)
