No avatar selected?
When I launched after the update applied it says no avatar selected, and it prompts new character creation when I load Temple HQ. The patch notes said something about moving savefiles, so where did my character go?

Also, it doesnt seem like there are any Blood Games servers running, is no one seriously playing it?

I think it's just that it came out on a weekday (a Tuesday, at that) that accounts to the low Blood Games server count.

My savefiles were fine, but were unable to play Blood Games with (I think this is a problem across the board). Hopefully the "devs with the name I never remember" release another bugfix update in the next few days.

Saves have been moved from steam\SteamApps\common\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\save folder to my documents\streumon\eye\Save folder

Go to your steam\SteamApps\common\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\save folder.
Backup all the files in the folder to a safe place.
Then move all files except save_english.txt and save_french.txt to my documents\streumon\eye\Save folder
Still in my documents\streumon\eye\Save folder. Please check you find YourAvatarName.HL1, YourAvatarName.HL2 and YourAvatarName.txt (where YourAvatarName is your actual avatar name).

If you can’t find the *.HL1 and *.HL2 file, it seems that one time you might have uninstalled the game and loose your saves.
If you find them, edit YourAvatName.txt (or create if it doesn’t exist) and be sure you find a text like PlayerName=YourAvatarName;m_iMyLevel=1; (still replace YourAvatarName by your actual avatar name). If you don’t , simply empty the file and write it yourself.

Then find avatarlist.txt and check if you find your avatar in it, if you don’t add its name and it should work.

All the files are present in documents\streumon\eye\Save folder , but I'm still getting 'No avatar selected.' there are .HL1 and a .HL2 with my avatar's name in them, and is included in avatarslist.txt, but it still isn't showing up in game.

Same here, .hl1, .hl2 with a bunch of other files were moved, and avatarslist.txt was edited, but nothing changed.

Also, I remember my Steam got offline when I finised the game and got triangular gate power, so I didn't get the achievement. Is it possible to get it without another game rerun for the same ending just to get it?
If not, then save system is incredibly bad.

It’s really odd, would you send me a zipped version of your save folder at support@streumon-studio.com to let me have a look on it?

Would you also send me the complete path to these files, something that should look like C:\Users\YourName\Documents\streumon\eye\Save

Are there several users defined on Windows?

Concerning the achievement even if the Steam was offline you should get it when you re-run the game with Steam online.

I've sent you a letter with attachment and path as you asked. Aside from system defined users, I'm a sole user on my OS.

I'll be able to verify if I can get the achievement once I'll re-obtain my avatar and save files.

OMG, Stu, you've said everithing to recover the avatar, except for most important final thing. Your avatar should not be simply listed in avatarslist.txt. it should be listed as
your_avatar_name.txt
You didn't mention that ".txt" file extention should be specified. Now I've recovered my avatar. Still no achievement for finishing the game though.

Gosh, such incompetence with your very own game, devs...

I understand that you are disappointed about the achievement issue you encountered. But you don’t need to specify the “.txt” extension in AvartarList.txt. Actually you have to write your avatar name without its extension to make it works properly.

If it works with the extension, be sure to have modified the avatarlist.txt present in MyDocuments folder. This is the only one used by E.Y.E since the last update.
Sublustris Jul 10, 2013 @ 9:53am
Without ".txt" extension in avatarlist my game was unable to locate the avatar and work with it. If I create the new avatar though, it will be specified without ".txt" in avatarlist and work properly too.
I have no idea, why doesn't it work with old profile/save without ".txt" extension specified.

Thanks for the info, I did several tests and was unable to duplicate this issue on our computers.

My save files deleted itself from the folder.

Have you ever uninstalled the game?
