E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

Can someone explain anything about the story to me?
Okay, so is the protagonist possessed by the sword? Why do I have a demon sword? Is that the artifact the Synicles were talking about?

I have no idea, and the best thing I ever found out was mostly from TV tropes.

Btw, why is there a giant brain in the middle of the temple? What is that thing anyways?

Very good questions.
I'm nodding like Jay right now.

None of this is answered in detail within the game. One of the reasons why the campaign leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, nothing makes a lick of sense in the late game.

I don't blame people for enjoying the campaign, but this was poorly written.

Well, it wasn't so much as poorly written, as much as it was not written at all. I mean, I can kind of see that the main hero is possessed but it does not go beyond that.

I understand the protagonist picked up that sword and went into a rage that he could not remember, so it makes sense that it has some part of the story in that detail rather than him being hacked, unless he was both hacked and possessed by demons.

you have to finish the game 3 times and get all "endings". Than you'll perhaps find out the truth.
There are also several hidden things that could give you clues. The three synicles on mars for example... or that bright shining mandico in new eden.

Even the brain in the temple which I haven't really noticed until you mentioned it makes kinda sense.. or Dutch reappearing as if nothing happened after he died before your eyes (if you don't manage to save him)

You could somewhat compare the story to the dark souls universe in which it isn't told to you very cleary
You have to look for it and figure it out on your own.

It's not about a demon sword though.

Well, maybe that brain controls everyone, because apparently mass control is a thing in the universe.

I don't know, it's frustrating because it's interesting, but limited.

have you played through the game once?
There is this guy infront of Rimanahs office after one mission who tells you a story of why the synicles look like blindfolded women.
And than there are these three synicles that tell you a story in this factory on mars.

That might give you a little hint. Especially if you played through once and someone asked you what you were always doing in the office of Rimanah

So, I get he killed his wife, and he was dead so far.
In the end there is someone wondering that some people heard you talking to yourself.

This might be the place for you. Yuyuko did a fantastic job explaining it in detail.

edit: you would have to scroll a little up i think

Ah, that makes sense now. The hero has been running around trying to kill himself for like a week now. It's all starting to make more sense now.

well, in dream sequence go to the right near gate's stairs - you gonna find surprise, which will make you lose your energy))

guess you'll need to read wiki - it has explanation

The wiki for this game is extremely lacking. TV tropes gave me a better understanding to be honest.

Well, the main story seems pretty much solved from above posts, but just random things in the game, like the doors with cryptic symbols on them that open up to monsters and stuff like in New Eden seem totally random.
Gates Jun 1, 2015 @ 9:40am
The monster in new eden you can talk to is an early hint at both figuring out how to reach the "true ending" as well as a hint that the world is not what it appears to be.

The game does have plenty of of obscure references that turn out to relate to the story in some way or form. The pillars in the dream as well as in cc_end have runes that translate to something that I cant quite recall 2 years after looking it up but think it went something like the beginning is the end.

Not sure how to post something blanked out for spoilers or id go into it in a little more depth.

http://steamcommunity.com/app/91700/discussions/0/ Lawd Mawdjulus does a far better job then I can as far as explaining the story even if we do have different thoughts on some small parts.
