Rare Research Briefcases

need a slightly higher drop rate. I've grinded thousands of humanoid npc's, now level 80 something, nearly capped all my cybernetic skills to level 9, and still haven't found the last 3 rare briefcases to complete research and progress further. Think I've almost put 70 hours or more in this game.

Like finding a Jah rune in Diablo 2, they're meant to drop only extremely rarely. I doubt Streum On will change this.

I found Zhar's Eye by pure accident in the early stages, but there are still 2 questionmarks left and I also pumped like 50 hours into.

Bah, I'm still missing 5! You guys are lucky. I remember finding Zhaar's Eye on a previous character, but not on my current one yet.

My advice, try to get rare briefcases from Secreta Secretorum members, they drop rare briefcases more often.

Oh really? Is this personal experience, or is this stated somewhere in patch notes, etc?? Either way I'm trying it out! :P

Never stated anywhere, from personal experience, I dunno at least, that's how it worked for me. Bandits almost don't drop anything. Got all the briefcases from farming in New Eden. Might also be good idea to try farming on noctys, since there are elite feds, who also drop rare briefcases more frequently.

I know it spoils the reward, but personally I usually use the character editor to add the last of the rare research.

Still missing Zhaar's Eye. Got like 4 Antique Mechanisms in one hour...

I know an easy way. Here's the recepie:
1)Map: Temple. Max spawns, lowest difficulty. Restart it until you get to fight the Jians, not feds/monsters.
2)Gear: Heavy armor, minigun, medkit, lots of ammo. Also MAY(or may not) need Cloak - to heal and reload safely.
3)Where: From start point go past Rimanah's office, then to the right. Here is the screenshot of where you are supposed to be to start the farming process:

I think you all know where this is. On the left there are stairs down to the shooting range. Where usually soldiers train. You have to sit like this. Near the corner:

4)How: Sit down. Aim down sight. Wait till enemies run up the stairs and shoot em. Usually ~5 of em there. When done - look away for a sec or two. Look at the same spot - new enemies! Kill em - look away - look at new enemies there - kill em... And so on. You get the idea. After some time, when you're feeling like you had enough - run there, grab over9k briefcases and hope there is one you need.
I just put the game in windowed mode and watch some movie or a show while I shoot ppl. Coz on easiset they almost all of em are 1-hit kill. So you don't even have to aim properly... Just shoot in the general direction of the enemy. :D

Funny thing. I have created a server with Dream mission, killed some feds and the second case I picked up was Zhaar's Eye, heh ;-P.
