Noctis Labyrinthus Glitch?

Hi, I'm pretty new to EYE, picked it up a few days ago, and been doing an even mix of main campaign missions and side missions.
When I finished the Monolith mission, I was booted straight into the Noctis mission (mars). I googled it, and this is normal, but I spawned straight into the teleporter room, with a single eye soldier and two scrab bots. I never saw Dutch, and I can't find him on the map, I'm alone.

I decided to play it anyway, but after I died "properly" the first time, and went back to the dream, I was loaded up back at the beginning of the last mission in Monolith, where you have to go into the tunnels beneath the facility and blow the thing up? This has happened about five times now, every time I die properly on mars (or load my game) I have to redo the last mission on Monolith, and then when I get to mars I'm put straight back in the teleporter room, with my teleporter progress saved.

Is this a glitch? I've done a bit of research and I can't find anyone else talking about this, and I haven't seen this happen to any lets players? The game's already glitched a few missions out on me, I couldn't talk to my mentor on my second try at new eden, but this seems weirdly specific. Dutch has always survived Monolith FYI.

I had to redo that blowing up ♥♥♥♥ many times aswell. Unfortunately, I can't remember if I somehow fixed it or if I simply managed to stay alive. I believe I only had this on my first cycle (I finished two).

You can always try to verify your game files via steam library and run the .exe as an admin. maybe helps.
you could also enable the console in steam's lauch options and watch out for any erros. Maybe it can't properly write the safe files. Btw can you locate your safe files and post the filenames here?

and I generally recommend to make backups of your EYE safe files somewhere outside of the streum folder. Would have safed me a lot of trouble with another problem and this game is infamous for messing up these files.

Yeah I have windows 10, I tried verifying the files, and some were apparently out of place, but it did nothing, it seemed to me like it never loaded the start of Noctis, meaning it also skipped the save point there. I tried restarting the chapter on mars, and it restarted from the beginning of monolith. Dutch died this time though, and when I had to reload the next time it returned me to the save point after the first objective, not the save point before the last.
I eventually managed to get the level done, and then I somehow beat the rest of the game without using all my resurectors. I'll try backing up my saves as you suggest though, already I'm getting my saves screwed with again on my second cycle, new eden isn't saving properly and my mentor is glitching and not giving me my objectives :/
I'm loving this game, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is nearly as broken as skyrim.
