Is it worth doing or will the game just keep screwing up the checkpoints?
When I did choose to follow the mentor I started in an area but there was no dialogue, no objective to follow or anything like it.
I followed the only path I could find but it didn't lead to anything but a looter npc. There was a valve I could activate but I didn't really get if it lead to anything and the NPC didn't have nay more dialogue for me.
I still started in a staircase next to an armory in that map. Still no dialogue, just the objective "Find Akmal" I go out, take a right path and then turn out at a crossroad, one of the paths says "Joe the plumber" and the other one leads to lots of staircases to the top of the map.
Going there there was the NPC again, this time I tried to different conversation options and he revealed that you should turn the valve and shoot the switch. They were then both marked on my map and so I did.
But after that, nothing. No new objective, the npc didn't say anything else. According to the npc, shooting the switch was supposed to make the place blow up and Akmal was supposed to show up to fill the water tanks or something. But none of that really happened.
Instead I happened upon one of those generic doors that I apprently could open and there was a ductvent insie that took me to Akmal...
Looters are not very good at the talking.
If you go through that door earlier the vent will be full of solid green slime and you can't get into it.
Anyone knows if the Carnophage in Final mission only triggers if you speak with the Synicles on Monolith? Or if there are other ways?
obeying the king automatically puts you on the wolf path, leading to a wolf delivering your temple mission briefing.
the one on mars spawns either: A. randomly, or every third playthrough B. if you talk to enough hidden streum throughout the game. Synicles and the Manduco on New Eden is usually enough. or c. on the next playthrough after getting a certain ending. I don't remember if anyone ever figured that out for sure.
Like Saracanth I can usually find the one in the tomb quite easily. I'll have to actively avoid talking to some metastreums to comfirm that.
I'm trying to make things clear for my guide. It feels a bit incomplete when I don't know for sure. And if things have more conditions than I know then people are bound to run into problems and ask.
He's failed to spawn for me before. I remember some other people mentioning it too.
Afaik, as long as you side with the King on mars the wolf shows up in the temple. Sometimes if you talk to the King after aborting certain conversations you can get sent to see Akhmal and the council, or the Federation council, but once you get to the temple the wolf is there anyway.
