What is with the frame rate?

So I decided to replay this game again for the Achievements and the frame rate is unbearably slow. Can I fix this or is the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥?

Slow on AMD too. The workaround i've found is dropping the desktop refresh rate to 60hz and it is full speed again.

For me it definitely appears to be related to refresh rates. Windowed or full screen on my 144Hz monitor it runs at 35 fps. When run on my other 60Hz screens, or on the main screen but streamed through Remote Play, it runs at the proper 60 fps.

ok i got it fixed (without need to change to 60hz)
Just setup on the nvidia painel the vsync to fast for this game.

vsync fast worked for me, but it only runs at 60 FPS and not my screen's full refresh rate

I'm sorry! I forgot to mention that it only runs @ 60fps even by setting vsync to fast on nvidia panel. But at least this resolves the 35fps bug on 144hz monitors.

retro doesn't mean simple in program terms. These games are all made using modern software, and like a ......(insert any new ♥♥♥♥ here), new, doesn't mean better....
