Hey Floofy,

If you re-purchase the game on Steam, your progression and DLC should still be accessible as they're running through Ubisoft Connect.

However I wouldn't advise this.

To save your money (it is christmas after all), I would advise adding your Ubisoft copy to Steam as a 'Non-Steam Game', as this will allow you to launch it via Steam without needing to buy it again.

If you have any other questions though, please let us know!

Yes, it connects to your existing account. If you buy an edition with more DLC than you have on Ubi, it might be worth it (do the math), otherwise don't bother.

I have it on Uplay with ALL the DLC, will it ♥♥♥♥ the bed or will it just connect normally

It creates a separate entry on the Ubisoft Connect client. I own AC3 on both Steam/Uplay, ANNO 2070 on both, AC Black Flag on both, AC Valhalla on both, The Division on both. If my ANNO 1800 on Steam would launch, it would also create a separate entry.

It will connect normally (see above), but it's completely wasted money. You are basically paying to be able to click "start" on Steam. It will still need UbiConnect. Just add it to your library manually as explained by Unrealtairo above.

Edit: I do not know if buying only the base game on Steam would still start the game with all the DLC on Ubi. But, again, this is moot, since it's a patently bad idea in the first place.

I wouldn't knock them 4 it. Cheesy sure. But epic did give free money bag for a semi exclusive. Still could by ubisoft. Contract ended, no renewal. They got cash.

And from 2019 to 2023... now we have the deck. It's nice to have these easy access for deck via steam now.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Does all this work on the Steam Deck as well? I tried launching from the Ubisoft launcher on the desktop on the steam deck but the game just crashed instead. I have a lot of Ubisoft connect games but only a steam deck to play games on now so any help in being able to play them through steam without re-purchasing them would be amazing!

Hi !

I've taken note of your question regarding Anno 1800 and the Steam Deck.

At this stage, we are unable to guarantee full compatibility between Ubisoft games and services and Steam Deck / SteamOS.

Certain games could work; however, we are unable to assist in case of compatibility issues.

You can also reach out to the Steam Deck discussions for support.

Don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions, or if there's anything else we can help you with !

Since this was asked, how about if I already own a Ubisoft game in Ubisoft launcher, and the I want to buy the DLC in steam store instead of Ubisoft store? Can I do that or it is just a waste of money?

I'm also curious regarding this. Steam allows purchasing Warlords of New York https://store.steampowered.com/app/2222570/ separately even when I don't own the base game on Steam (I do in Ubisoft Connect though). Is there any way to make that work somehow? Or do I have to purchase both the base game and the DLC?

Hey everyone,

Regarding the question on the compatibility between the base game and DLCs on different platforms, we always recommend to purchase all content on the same platform, to avoid compatibility issues.

You can find more info here[www.ubisoft.com]

Please do not hesitate to ask, should you need more information.

Thank you very much.
