Newspapers reporting false news in Manola

Newspapers just can't get seem to get any news about Manola correct.

For example, even though I've built the dam which supplies power to the entire island, I keep getting articles about a lack of power:

Then I keep getting a report of a lack of Spectacles:

Spectacles are not required at any level anywhere in the New World. They are an optional Lifestyle good only, but I shouldn't be getting negative news reports about them. I don't get any news reports of other lifestyle goods being unfulfilled, just Spectacles.
