Anno 1800 + Anno 1800 - Year 5 Gold Edition

Will there be any discount when purchasing "Anno 1800 - Year 5 Gold Edition" if only the basic "Anno 1800" was previously purchased?

Or does this simply cancel the right to the previously purchased copy of the game instead of providing benefits, since 2 copies of the game on one account makes no sense?

Thank you for your question regarding Anno 1800 Year 5 Gold Edition.

There is no upgrade option available when purchasing another edition of Anno 1800 and there is no discounted amount due to already having a basic game. You are buying a new copy.

Your previous activation / copy will not be cancelled, you will have two copies of the game in your libraries (Steam and Ubisoft Connect).

Too bad. I'll have to buy the add-ons I'm interested in separately. Since I already bought the game a few months ago, buying it again is too strange for me.
