I just clicked cancel and then tried to start the game again in steam. This opened a dialog asking if I want to connect the steam with the ubisoft games (or something like that). That seems to work.
Hi Ki11OrBKi11,
sorry to hear that you are getting asked for an activation code.
Purchases made on Steam and linked to Ubisoft Connect are direct activation. There are no codes which will be needed to redeem.
If it is the first time launching the game, It would be advisable to make sure that Ubisoft Connect is completely closed (and is also not running in the background) when it is open, and you try to launch the game for the first time, it will believe that you have already played the game via Steam and is trying to look for the licence (which is why the activation key window prompts up)
I would, therefore, advise trying the following:
- Make sure Steam and Ubisoft Connect are completely closed via the task manager.
- Launch Steam and then start the game.
- It should then automatically open Ubisoft Connect for you, link the two platforms, activate the licence of the game onto your Ubisoft account and launch the game without being asked for a key.
PLEASE NOTE: Make sure that before you try the first step, that you are logged in with the correct Ubisoft account which you like to use as once activated, the game is bound to the account.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other queries.
I'm glad to hear that this worked for you
