Ground bug
I just loaded up Anno and all of a sudden the ground is black. You can see trees, bushes, the wheat on the farms. However, the grass on the island is just black, including the mountain. You can see some texture, like the snow cap. Just looking to see how to fix it, I re-booted, made sure my PC was up to date, including the graphics card. Was just playing the other day and no issue.

I had the same issue after I clicked on the docks - click on the map to load a different map and then go back to that world you've been in. It should work then. The next day, after I re-loaded the game, there was no such issue :)

This sometimes happen when I load a big save. But it settles after a view seconds or up to a minute as the game just needs it's time to load in all the stuff.
You can also try to switch from DX12 to dx11 if it's a driver problem.

Same but the buildings get black too for me, I just press spacebar to go to the world map and then back to the city and it fixes itself

It was a drive problem. I switched from DX12 to 11

Hello CAMIShadow and everybody else,

Apologies for not getting to this thread earlier.
I am happy to hear it that switching from DX12 rendering to DX11 helped you resolve the issue.

Hope it will help others too. Please make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

If it doesn't let us know the details of you PCs:

CPU:
GPU:
RAM:
Storage type (NVME, SSD, HDD):
Windows version:
(type WinVer in the Start menu and press Enter to check your Windows version and build)

Please include the GPU driver version and date and the game's installation path.
