Game launches zoomed into corner

when I try to launch the game it gives me a main menu where i am permanently zoomed into the upper left hand corner and it makes the game literally unplayable

Hey there,

Can you try pressing Alt+Enter when the game window is in focus? If this works from there you can then make sure your display/resolution settings are correct in game which will hopefully prevent this from occurring in future.

I did also locate some other reports from players reporting this particular issue occurring as well if they have their display scale set higher than 100% in their Windows settings so please check your desktop display settings as well and if it's set higher than 100% you can try lowering it and then launching again. I hope this helps but please let me know if you require further assistance, thanks!

I actually got it to work by adjusting the graphic settings through Geforce, but in the future ill be sure to give this a shot. Thank you!

Same problem and the fix with Alt+Enter did not work for me. But I found on reddit a similar case and this was the solution for me (I have a widescreen 3440x1440, but should be a universal solution to that problem with higher display scale):

• Go into the game's installation folder, then into \Bin\Anno1800.exe
  
• Right click Anno1800.exe and select properties
  
• Go to the "compatibility" tab
  
• Click "Change high DPI settings"
  
• Tick "override high dpi scaling behavior" and make sure "application" is selected below
  
• Enjoy Anno 1800
