GOD I HATE UBISOFT (Unable to launch game due to DLC and Ownership issues)
I bought this game back in December of 2023, I played it as a little gift to myself before the holidays. I played it and actually enjoyed it and played about 4 hours of up to that point with no issue. I downloaded Ubisoft Connect because cuckoldry and greed from Ubisoft's end, SO yes this game is linked to my steam account and I played it. On the 31st of December I bought some of the DLCs because I was feeling like I wanted to invest more money into this POS. I downloaded the DLCs and I click to launch the game from steam. It opens Ubisoft connect as it does and asks for me to imprint the DLCs onto my account. I click yes just as I did with ANNO earlier in the month with my account. But then there's a issue. I cant play the game. I get the common "Cannot authenticate ownership of product" error that everyone complains about. Turns out as I look at my Ubisoft account it went ahead and logged me out of my account, my NEW account I had made because up until that point I didn't know I had a old account from more then 5 years ago at that point that I had used to play assassins creed so long ago. And because I was already logged into that old account and not the one that had my ANNO game downloaded onto the DLCs that I just bought were imprinted onto the old account and not the new one. As a result I am completely unable to play the game what so ever. I've tried everything that YouTube can offer. I logged out of my old account, logged into my new account, restarted steam, ubisoft, my computer. Didn't work. Turned out my Ubisoft account wasn't linked to my steam and the only way to link it is by launching the game and since I only own ANNO I had to buy a for honor and launch it from my new account to link my steam to the Connect account. DIDNT FIX IT. At this point I might be cooked. I know it was along time go since the original issue but I was gone and really forgot about it until now. The fact is I've spent quite a bit of dough on this POS in which I've probably spent maybe 3.5 hours on in total?

I understand my situation might be kinda rare or unconventional but I'm kinda looking for answers at this point. I sent a paragraph about the same length as this one to the support center at UBISOFT to seek help but I doubt ill ever get anything fixed from their end. I thought about pirating it and just getting a new account but idk I kinda want to play my own game. What do y'all think, what haven't I done yet that I can?

Hey,
If I understood correctly, you linked Anno 1800 to an account (#1) and successfully linked the DLCs to the wrong account (#2).
Well, you can't change anything about this problem on your own, these links are stored in a Ubisoft database that you have absolutely no access to. And Steam can't really help you with this either, because you were able to successfully link the DLCs (even if it was the wrong account).
Most ownership problems that you find with Steam and Ubisoft are related to Steam and Ubisoft not communicating properly with each other and in this case something like logging in/out or restarting Steam/Ubisoft can help. But that doesn't help with your problem, and in the first step only Ubisoft Support can help you and perhaps solve it directly.

yeah i assumed so. ultimately i din't expect a solution even though I've already put in a claim with their support. i just don't understand why it would log me out of my new account and log me into my old account automatically.

Hello, Italien.

Sorry to hear it about the account confusion.
It is not such a rare case that this happens.
Ubisoft Connect on occasion may log players out, especially if there is significant update to the UC client.

As @MGuenny has written, only Ubisoft Support can resolve it for you.
Make sure that in your ticket you ask for transfer of either the game or the DLCs. If you choose to transfer the full game to the account where your DLCs are, you will loose all the progress, so probably it's better to ask for the DLCs to be moved to the account with the main game.

I would advise you moving all games to one account and delete the additional one, just to avoid such situation in the future.

I ended up going to Ubisoft and spent about 2 weeks texting back and forth with them trying to fix the problem but they eventually just told me to piss off and my issue never got fixed. Sooooo I wasted like 70-100 dollars on this POS

Then why are you knowingly shipping your game bundled with this junk?
I have exact same issue, though I have gotten fed up with their "support" team much earlier, than the original author. So I have requested a refund on the Season Passes from Steam since its less than 48 hours since I bought them, and I have closed my old UbiS**t Account, so something like this does not happen again. Hopefully I will be able to play Base Anno 1800 once the refund goes through. Will update, as updates happen
