Have you tried to click the iron mines beyond the boulders (the blocked path to the west)
It only works if you click on the iron mines, not on the other ones.

Ok so yo have to craft a sonar and it it guides you to the objective.

Ah sorry, i though that you meant the first mission quest, with the iron mining ^^ my fault

No sorry I just meant one of the sunken treasure missions on sandbox, but I figured it out.

Go to the deep east of the map (мужики идите на самый восток карты с включенным эхолотом, там увидите особенные круги которые приведут к месту)

I have this problem and posted it awhile back. The Dev's responded and wanted a video or screen shot. By the time the quest came along again they had removed my post. The transponder will show a yellow arc when your close to a possible site. it's suppose to also show a red arc if there are mines in the area and the mines are circled in red...but if your having the same problem I had they will not show this does not happen..and your right the normal location markers are not visible so you have to sail around until you pick up the yellow arcs then approach the area while looking for the mines. There is obviously something wrong with the I, Me, Mine quest. If you know how to take a video and post it on twitch maybe the Developers will take note.

Definitely broken mechanic, but the quest does work.
I also never see any red arc or circled mines at all with my sonar. I can however see the mines floating when I zoom in and I can avoid them. Without the sonar you cant see the mines at all. If there is suppose to be any further indicator of mines, that doesnt work.
The quest does however work and I can get the reward.

Thank you for posting your response. I agree with what your saying that the quest does work, but there has always been a red arc as you got closer to the objective and then the mines were circled in red. I posted this "problem" a while back and as I've stated the Developers responded asking for a screen shot or video. I confess I do not know how to comply with their request. They eventually dropped my post. Now if the red arc and circles are no longer part of the quest, fine, but they could have at least told me that. I have asked the question on the other pages but have never found that it is no longer active.
If you know how to post a screen shot or video please do so to the attention of the Developers.
So far you are the only one who has acknowledged what I think is a bug.
Thanks for that.
Got the quest today, didn't pay attention to the dialog so i didn't know if Tobias gave any hint about the direction i supposed to go so i simply activate the "radar" and roam around until i see yellow reflection instead of a normal one. All in all, 25 minutes is quite enough if you spend 10 minutes watching the salvarger roam around.

I has this quest recently.
No indication of where the area was.
No Red Danger arc when I did find it.
When I got closer the item was surrounded by mines, must have been 10 mines in a one inch area and absolutely no way to avoid them. Blew up my Scavenger.
Now I just delete the request from Old Nate.

Sorry for everyone's difficulty on this one. I too had some trouble, but was able to solve it this way:

1) Turn radar on and travel east. The mined dive spot was to the far east edge of the map for me. Yellow radar quest finders vary in detection distance, but head that way and you should start seeing it.

2) I found no way to remove the protecting mines, but if you are very careful you'll find the dive bell radius is larger than the mine detonation radius. You can creep up and gather the quest item with out exploding. Careful not to sail through the mines as you leave.

Hope this helps!
My spot was to the west of Tobias island. I didn't encounter many mines as only 2 red reflections appear. So either skirt around the minefield to find a safe path or have a buffed up battlecruiser (Health + self repair) to open a path.

There are no hints given about where the diving spot is. My spot was to the east (the right corner of the map). I found it with a medium sonar.
The mine is right on top of the diving area. Move to the edge of the area until the diving action is enabled.

I guess the idea was that the player will advance quickly in the story and this kind of quest will pop out when the player will get the sonar item from Old Nate. However I didn't want to progress to quickly because I was afraid that Vasco will attack eventually. But in my latest session it was the very first quest that Old Nate gave me.

My problem however was that each time I got this quest (or similar one), the mine is ALWAYS exactly on top of the mission objective. Luckily I found out that the mortar trick works here (when I was looking for the solution some guys here had problems with Merciers mines :) ), so I have one extra ship with mortar always in Cape Trelawney.
