Audio Crackling/Stuttering still not fixed
Hey everyone,

i just downloaded the newes patch/harbour DLC and the promised fix for the audio crackling/stuttering problem caused by the prior patch is still not fixed on my end :(

Just like before, after about an hour of playtime, the music and several audio effects start to crackle and stutter nonstop. Makes the game quite unpleasend to play to be onest.

*EDIT*

Seems like the performance problems are also not fixed as the game just startet to stutter like hell after about 2 hours of playing. Even on a new save-file with little to no islands settled... bummer :-/

Is anyone else having this issue?

Hey Sankt Artilleron,

Thank you for reaching out, sorry to hear you're having stuttering issues

May we know what system specs you're using?

Have you also tried any troubleshooting steps such as verifying the game's files[ubi.li]?

Thank you!

Hello,

it seems i found the Problem with the Help of some Reddit Users.
I posted my problem there aswell: https://www.reddit.com/r/anno/comments/lqrehk/audio_cracklingstuttering_still_not_fixed/

Turns out the new NVidia drivers where the source of the Problem. I had to downgrade to the 457.30 Version from November 2020.

After i reinstalled the old drivers the game suddenly ran smooth as butter with no audio crackling or performance stuttering.

Seems like alot of other People using newer gforce cards and the newest drivers had the exact same problems as i had.

Here are my specs:

Windows 10
Intel Core i7-6700k CPU@4.00GHz
16GB Ram
GeForce RTX 2080

Hey Sankt Artilleron,

Thank you very much for getting back to us and for the further information that the driver rollback is what worked for you!

This has already been reported to the game's team and they're looking into reports of issues with 20 and 30 series' running 457.51 and higher drivers causing issues in-game

Please keep an eye on the forums and we'll update them once we hear more about this and when it's expected to be fixed!

Thank you for sharing that the rollback worked for you! Hopefully this helps others who have this issue in the meantime, while this is looked into

If there's anything else we can help with, please let us know!
